A little rough for a dubbel, most american dubbels do no justice for being lumped into this style. At first sniff, has a gravelly aroma and that mellows out to a sweet heavy fruit candy rev in the glass, a little alarm goes off in my alky detector.Orange red iced tea color. Fizz lacks desired gusto on the throttle. Hard hitting savory alky chewing on leather saddle and sissy bar bags. Tolerable only because it’s called beer. I really liked last years Snowstorm and was a little disappointed in this one. Too overpowering, almost as offensive as barley wine, IMHO probably should be listed as a barley wine.

12 oz. bottle from csbosox. Pour is a clear yellow gold with a 4 inch white head. Aroma of some very mild Saaz hops, and very muted biscuit malts. True to the nose, the flavor if pretty much a watered down Pilsener taste. There are no off tastes in this, so it doesn’t taste bad. Just a bit thin, and a bit flavorless. Up the ingredients Schell, and you’d have a winner here. Thanks for bringing this one back from Iowa, Chris.

Bottle. Pours a brownish amber color with a medium head that dies almost immediately, leaving some traces on the side of the glass and a bubbly film on the surface. Aromas are of floral hops and some lemony citrus and spice. Flavor is, first and foremost, watery, but fairly pleasant. Hops flavors come across with a bit of lemon peel and some white pepper. Malt presence makes itself known with an understated biscuit and caramel sweetness and a bit of sticky sweetness. Nice, but not that interesting.

An ordinary pale lager, clear gold color. Simple corn/malt flavor. Not offensive in any way and very drinkable.

Medium yellowish head, amber-clear beer. Chalk, caramel, some ester, green peas mash aromas. Caramel, ambrée malt, pretty "crisp" taste, but with a touch of human sweat. The palate develps definite earthy bitterness, getting less "easydrinking". Ah, not bad - American "crisp" interpretation of the ubiquitous Märzen. Thanks to David.

Pour is a dark brown with a average tan head. Aroma is nothing to write home about, just some sweetness is all. Flavor is a little more decent. Some caramel malt with a touch of dark fruit. Still this is sub-par for a bock.

Pour is a orange with a small white head. Aroma is hard to detect and I deffinatly get no hops just a really sweet malt. Flavor is also on the sweet side but again nothing stands out. Not good and the pils i had from this brewer made me think that this could be a hidden gem. Not so much.

Pour is a bright golden with a bubbly white head. Aroma is floral hops and a nice sweet malt. Flavor is clean and crisp with some hops showing and also a grain. Decent little beer and something you could drink many of in one session.

Hazy light orange-brown body, thin off-white head. Aroma is a bit cardboardy with white grape, esters, and breads. Light, bready body, with musty light fruits (pear?) and hints of cardboard. Grassy hops. I’m not a big fan.

Pour is a bright gold with a average white head. Aroma is a decent enough amount of malts with some zest in there. Flavor is dry malts with a touch of lemon and hops. No real honey but im fine with that. An ok beer and would make a nice session summer brew.
