Pint can pours with a clear deep copper body that has thin gold hued edges and supports a thin light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up the expected crystal malt hit that has a spicy malt infused anise edge to it. The taste delivers smooth sweet malts, a thin ripe cherry ester note and then it slowly slides into a modest yet pleasing spicy almost black licorice like hop bitterness. This attains a nice balance and never gets too sweet or cloying. Solid.

32oz crowler pours with a clear copper body that supports a near white head of foam. The aroma offers up a blend of woodsy hops, floral, citrus and grassy herbal kind of shrubbery. The taste delivers a blend of bitter woodsy hops and lightly sweet malts. The hops turn a little pine and mildly resiny to midway. Toward the finish a fun citrus earthy tea to faintly mint hoppiness comes to the surface. Cool hop with some Chinook like qualities.

On tap at the State Bar, Flagstaff, AZ. Pours cloudy orange with white head. Some vague hops, stale, malty, some bitternes in finish. Medium bodied. Not good. I wonder what went wrong here.

Poured up on tap at the brewery where it exhibits a muddy deep copper to mahogany colored body that supports a nice lasting tan head of foam. The aroma offers up fairly spicy smelling oak, some vanilla and then molasses and thin caramel with a boozy hit at the end of the draw. The taste starts smooth and sweet with a blend of molasses, caramel and bourbon flowing into mildly spicy oak and vanilla. It then gets into near firm booziness into the finish. This is a terrific smooth sipper.

On tap at Dragoon, pours a deep dark dirty mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma brings out loads of bourbon barrels, dark fruits and heaps of caramel. Flavour is impeccably complex, with loads of elegant bourbon barrels showcasing their depth, followed by truckloads of caramel and dark dried fruits. Phenomenal depth and use of the barrels. It certainly is sweet but definitely not cloying. A work of art here.
