Part of a sampler at the brewery. Clean and crisp. Clear yellow. Could use a more forceful malt bill. Slight corn aspects to it.

Tap at a pizza place in Tucson. Solid amounts of citrus and malt backing. This beer is massively bitter and I prefer an IPA to focus on aroma and flavor hops. Not to my liking, but well make.

On cask at Tap & Bottle in Tucson. First stop of the wedding weekend and the first beer did not disappoint. Pours a hazy honeycomb orange with full, retained white head. Aroma has solid amount of earthiness, slight herb and even a little citrus. Flavor brings forth the same earthiness dominating a great beer.

On tap at Real, Wild & Woody Beer Festival, pours an opaque golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out piney hops and dry biscuity malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with an earthy and piney hoppy astringency on the finish. Dank and fairly harsh on the finish. Good stuff.

On tap at Real, Wild & Woody Beer Festival, pours black with a small brown head. Aroma brings out lots of bourbon upfront, followed by roasted malt and a little vanilla. Flavour is heavy, with loads of heavy bourbon and vanilla, followed by light sweetness and subdued roast. Full-bodied and impeccably balanced. Excellent.

On cask at Real, Wild & Woody Beer Festival, pours black with a small brown head. Aroma brings out roasted malt upfront, followed by some dry woodiness. Flavour is along the same lines, with light roast and a little wood. A little thin and dull, but it works alright.

32oz growler fill, from King’s Convenience, pours with a clear gold body that supports a thin near white head of foam. The aroma offers up floral and herbal like hops, some mango and then a pepper sensation that seems a little odd up against the fruitiness. The taste begins bitter with floral hops, herbal hoppiness, bitter to the point of resiny yet malt and honey sweetened onion dank hops, an earthy spicy woodiness, tangelo, pineapple and a few mango pieces. To midway the bitter floral hops grow and meet up with a peppery note that adds to the level of bitterness yet seems to struggle against the harmony of the experience. The floral hoppiness is just pervasive here and it’s not really my favorite hop to rule a beer. Still this is a good clean big IIPA sipper where the abv is hardly noticeable.
