On tap at Dragoon, pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out light rustic character and some funky blue cheese. Flavour brings out rustic saison yeast, a touch of funk and a hint of fruity esters. Ahead of the curve in terms of American saisons, with a solid yeast profile. Good stuff.

On tap at Dragoon, pours a clear dark copper with a medium beige head. Aroma brings out toasted bready malt and some light nuttiness. Flavour is like drinking toasted bready, with a bone dry plate. Nothing special, but it's well made. Decent.

Poured up on tap at the brewery on 11.12.2016 and packaged on 04.07.2013 (what is that... 3 and a half years old) where it exhibits a deep dark body that supports a thin dark tan head. The aroma offers up smooth dark roasted malts, molasses, marshmallow, chocolate, faint dark fruity esters and a touch of booze. The taste delivers smooth chocolate punctuated by spicy dark roasted malts and molasses. To midway it picks up booze mixed with marshmallow and spicy chocolate. Nice!

Poured up on tap at the brewery where it exhibits a deep dark body that supports a thin dark tan head. The aroma comes across as largely bourbon booze backed up by chocolate and dark roasted malts, a bit of vanilla and a woody note. The taste delivers pleasing rich chocolate notes nuanced by dark roasted malts to burnt malts and smooth soft sweet bourbon. Behind those notes are sweet vanilla and an oaky woodiness. Pretty solid.

Poured up on tap at Ermanos craft beer where it exhibits a clear deep gold body that supports a near white head that leaves behind some sheet lacing. The aroma offers up sweet sugary malts,a pear note, yeastiness and a faint spiciness. The taste delivers smooth soft sugary malty sweetness, some spicy saison notes and then vague hop bitterness. Toward the finish a pleasing cracker like maltiness comes to the surface. Pretty nice but a little on the sweet side.

Tap. Pours opaque black, small creamy tan head, great lacing. Aroma is bourbon, cocoa, hints of anise, vanilla. Flavor is medium sweet, light bitter, fairly strong barrel presence, but in the end well integrated. Full body, a bit of heat. Pretty nice effort.
