Draught@brewery. Deep amber colour with small white head. Aroma is bready malts, some grains, gass and mild burnt wooden notes as well. Flavour is quite much the same and also has some slight earthy and dark fruity notes. Pleasant, but carbonation is a bit too biting.

Second rating, fall 2010: Cloudy light brown. The aroma is yeasty-appetizing with a light malty toastiness. Quite yeasty on the palate as well. Lightly toasty. Perhaps too yeasty for me. I didn’t like it nearly as much the second time around and ordered a Lager instead for the follow-up round.
First rating, spring 2009: Hazy light brown. A little unsexy for a kellerbier. Enticing earthy malts with a slight brown sugar accent mixed with woody hop on the nose. Very dry character, rich in earthiness and a hint of minerals. 8-2-8-4-16 = 3.8

Cloudy pale tan, thick head. Fresh banana aroma with light yeast and spiciness. Very dry, lightly spicy and faintly dusty wheat. The finish subtlely melds creamy marshmallow malt sweetness with wheaty acidity. Good quaffing weizen.

Bottle, 4.9% bought at the brewpub. Clear yellow colour. Stable white head. The aroma is sweet, hayish with nice bread and even nicer hops. Also a little good chalk in there. The flavour is dry, but malty. Clean with a little sweet hop flavour. Medium hoppiness, slightly rough and cleansing.

Draught at the brewpub. Clear light amber colour. Nice stable lacy white head. The flavour starts off clean, but a bit thin. Has a little chalk to begin with, that is nice enough. Slightly watery finish. Clean, but not so interesting.

On draught at the Biergarten:Presumabely golden with a creamy, lacy white head; shy grainy nose with a light fruity touch; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied, smooth MF; short grainy-sweetish finish. A beer of modest quality - by franconian standards, that’s understood.......
