12 oz. bottle dated best by 8/11/16 into a pilsner glass. A: Dark, mostly clear gold color with a small quick head, busy bubbles and patchy lacing. S: Nice sweet orange/tangerine scent. A faint bit of caramel. T: Not sweet! Very crisp tart flavor of some cross between citrus and evergreen. Seems distinctive and tastes pretty good though even if it is a bit thin. M: Thin body even for 5.5%. Average carbonation with a sour/bitter finish. Slight resin. O: This is different in a good way. I like milder IPAs so the ABV is agreeable and the bitter/sour hop note seems distinctive if a little odd. I’d buy it again.

Bottle. A- Chocolate syrup, milk, subtle coffee, roasty. A- Black color, black liquid, brown head. T- Chocolate syrup, milky, sweet, slightly roasty, slightly dry, subtle coffee bitterness. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- Wanted this mostly for the novelty of being brewed with sweet potatoes. Can’t say that I really got much sweet potato. It definitely added to the sweetness but didn’t have a pronounced flavor. It was good though. I expected it to be a weird novelty beer and in turn it was actually very tasty.
