Draft at Half Acre. I found this in my notes visiting there in March; ooops. Puffy, ecru single finger-width of foam. Smell is lightly sweet. Just a basic Belgian beer taste, with a little more "meat" to it than a Belgian pale ale. But even for a sample, it yields some layers, leading to a note of stout roast and yeast bite.

A lightly hazed brown ale with a thick brown head. In aroma, sweet sweet caramel malt with light floral hops, nice. In mouth, a nice sweet caramel malt with light chocolate notes, light coffee, well done. On tap at brewery.

A clear dark brown stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, smooth chocolate with nice grassy hops. In mouth, good nutty caramel malt with smooth chocolate malt, coffee, very nice.

A lightly hazed dark amber ale with a thin light mocha head. In aroma, light sweet nutty malt with grassy hops, not bad. In mouth, a nice sweet caramel malt with light mineral notes, grassy hops, OK. On tap at brewery.

A deep dark imperial stout with a thin dark brown head. In aroma, loads of coffee attack the nose with caramel, treacle, and floral hops, very nice and pleasant. In mouth, intense bitter chocolate with good coffee grind, musty character, chalky notes, light alcohol warmth, very classic and pleasing. On tap at brewery.

A golden orange ipa with a thin lacing mocha head. In aroma, biscuit malt over pungent floral hops, catty notes, complex yet smooth and compelling. In mouth, a nice biscuit malt with smooth piney floral hops, grapefruit pulp, light sulfur, well done ipa. On tap at brewery.

Can courtesy of AirForceHops. Grapefruit, caramel malt, and earthy orange aroma. Hazy copper with a small off-white head. Grapefruit hops, citrus peel, and biscuity caramel malt flavor. Body on the light side of medium, soft carbonation. This one is smooove, well balanced and oh so easy to drink.

2012 bomber (Big Hugs vs Mecha Hugs). Aroma is dark and roasty with a moderate roasted coffee aroma. Moderate sweet chocolate aroma with hints of plum and cherry dark fruit. Hint of alcohol, but really just a nice mocha aroma. Pours dark brown to black with a moderately thin, small mocha head that recedes quickly to the edges. Light lacing and small legs. Flavor is similar to the aroma with a pretty predominant roast coffee note upfront. Some light dark frit notes and a hint of green coffee beans mid palate. The finish has quite a big chocolate note and finished like a mocha. Medium light alcohol spice and medium to medium high bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium full to full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall an a pretty nice coffee stout, but not one I would agree more than a year as I think this is showing hints of a negative oxidation experience. Nice coffee and chocolate character combine to make for a mocha finish.
