Aroma and appearance are like Westmalle Tripel. Blond colour, white foam, only here more bubbles. Wheat-flavour. Rather bad flavour, especially for an abt, poor old abt, that you have to drink this, if you only lived a couple of miles away from this brewery, you could been drinking Westvleteren Abt. But yeah, bitter flavour, little malty, etc.

Bottled. Pours hazy burgundy. Aroma of drued fruit. Complex flavour - caramel, raisins and even coffee. Dryish, but sweeter than their Prior, and also lighter in body. Still it's malty, and with a pleasant soft mouthfeel. The finish is bitter and hoppy.

Bottled. Dark roast brown, lightly cloudy. Caramel aroma. Dry with notes of almond and dark bitter Belgian chocolate. Malty and lightly fruity, but the image of a perfect beer is broken a slightly sharp mouthfeel. A dry, smooth caramel finish with pleasant hop bitter finish still makes it if not perfect, so at least great.

A deep red beer with a small head. The aroma is slightly sweet but very faint. The flavor is very sweet - the sweetness lingers on your lips - but it doesn't contain any smoke. It's a good beer but not a stout.

Sampled draught at Akkurat, Stockholm, Sweden.
Orange coloured, cloudy with average head. Aroma of melon and toffee. Sweet and malty with sugary caramel flavour and clean malt profile. Salty, syrupy finish with some late harsh bitterness.

Colour is pale orange. Extremely luxurious, white-yellowish head, slowly collapsing. Nose gives a sweet, honeyish smell and very fresh at the same time, like an item of a bodycare shop. After some time, a hopcharacter appears, like an old hopsack being opened. Liquorice dominates the taste, certainly at lower temperatures, which is crazy. Definitely - the old Van Eecke touch has lived and the Leroy taste rules. There is a bitterness, but is only marginally apparent, as a retronasal flavour. The liquorice character is all too overwhelming. Very full-bodied mouthfeel, a bit of alcohol. Aftertaste is again sweet instead of bitter. Although a hopcharacter still's there, this beer has been downgraded. This is a loss for Belgium's beerheritage.

Bottled. Red-brown colour. Yellow head. Malty and spicy aroma. The flavour is amazing by it's simpleness. Has a flavour between the best pilsener and a great abbey-beer.

Colour: amber-orange. Thick, yellowish head with large bubbles, not stable. Nose of solvent and fruit (prunes, citrus). Something spicey there as well. Alcohol in the nose. Dry taste, liquorice - and lots of it - Oh God, this has gone down the Leroy drain. Again spicey, maybe mustard seed or horseradish powder. A flavour as if you'ld pour brandy on a sugarlump. Mouthfeel is quite dry. Alcohol and alcohol again, impressioning. Drying-out effect very outspoken. There is no real aftertaste. A general impression keeps hanging, with a throat-warming effect. Oh, I wish for the old days when Van Eecke was Van Eecke, and Leroy Leroy. On the other hand, this beer really promesses to better in years' reckoning, instead of months. Mind you, I buy the 75cl, not the little bottles.

Citrus and sugary nose. Light brown ,unstable creamy head. Somewhat yeasty, citrus a bit bandaid. Weak palate, quickly forgotten.

Fresh lemony aromas with a hop undercurrent. Golden, good carbonation, nice firm head. Harvestflavors, some bandaid. Sparkly bubbles in the mouth - makes it light. terse exit.
