In Year 1916 property was acquired by family of Magierkiewicz and stayed under their management till breakout of World War II. Brewery was functioning in times of German occupation providing working space for the local population.
Next owner was family of Blusiewicz, which was running the brewery in years 1947-1951. In the end of 1951 Brewery was nationalized and incorporated into Brewery Department of Lodz. In the brake of 1996 and 1997 family of Blusiewicz reclaimed their rights to Brewery and begun beer production as a family company under the name of Browar Staropolski.Modernization of the Brewery allowed to increase the production power up to 100 thousands hectoliters of beer per year.
The end of XX century was a very successful year for the Brewery and management decided to export their products to USA and UK, where it become very popular among Britons and American Poles. Brewery was sold in 2007 due to the weak strategy in fighting for the consumer on the brewery market, at that time mainly dominated by large corporations. Following years were very difficult for Staropolski Brewery, which resulted in Brewery bankruptcy.
In 2014 Brewery was bought by Dystrybucja Pomorze, private limited company.

Sparkling clear. Rather low, white head.
White grapes, cherry blossoms in aroma. A hint of honey.
It's mainly sweet, with light bitterness. Tastes a lot like white wine.
Slick in mouth, highly carbonated but still kind of delicate.
For that amount of alcohol, it hides it very well. That is, until you want to stand up.

Pours hazed gold into a shaker. Bright white head with medium retention recedes to hug rim. Sourdough and cracker aromas. Medium bodied with overripe, rotting peach and apricot upfront turning to stale sourdough before the lasting bitter earth finish. Nope.

0.5l fliptop that went flying everywhere at a random point of the night. Very dark, hazy brown bo Thx Fil! Alcohol, huge vanilla sweetness and chocolate maybe in the aroma. Smooth sweet taste, rum barrel, raisins, vanilla, chocolate, sweetness, alcohol... huh. Fun, tasty, rough.

Sehr süßer Beginn, künstlich nach Erdbeeren, was alles andere übertünscht. Konstant, unsüffig, kaum trinkbar. 9/4/3/3/8/3

Bottle from local Polish shop – drank at home. Pours a slightly hazy golden straw with a medium sized frothy transient off-white head. The powerful aroma has malts, sugars and plums. Pretty much the same in the mouth where it is rather sweet and syrupy – malts and plums about even to start but plums coming through very strongly later. Sweetness lingers in a slightly dry finish. Not a bad beer but a bit of an acquired taste.

Pours hazy gold into a Sam glass. Soapy head with little retention recedes to mottle surface. Sugar aromas. Soft with sweet malt, honey and golden syrup front to back. Another drain pour. This brewery sucks.
