Tasted under the name of Strandjuttersbier Mong de Vos from den Haene beers Stupendous huge dark-reddish beige head, dense & creamy; beautiful deep-garnet coloured beer. Alcohol, dark sweet malts and peperkoek(+/- gingerbread). Later more wood, dry wood, lactic acid. Sweet, very much so, near syruplike, but covering again a spike of sourish lactic. In the finish it gets drier, but with more marked liquorice, medlar jam flavours and faint chocolate. Dry ending and some alcohol, but still pretty discreet for its ABV; slick, near buttery, medium to well-bodied. Honestly, I’m not overawed. There have been unfortunate attempts at covering the typical Oud Bruin characteristics from Strubbe, fortunately not quite succeeded. It has been brought under my attention that the Strandjuttersbier might not be the same as the Keyte D.T. So here’s a retry of the original Keyte Dobbel-Tripel. Good, but fast receding cream-beige head over deep garnet-redbrown beer. Bready & leafy nose, yeast notes and Vietnamese Sambaosauce. Sweet, with a light sourness, covered by this slightly artificial sweet flavour, Traubenzucker , discreet cookies, liquorice, leafy again. Not bad, but not really great. MF very slick, creamy texture, smooth, acidburn completely covered. 7/4/7/4/14 As to eventual difference with the Strandjuttersbier, it is not decisive. Strubbe are able to do an near-inifinite tweaking and blending, so it might be that those are different batches. Still, they resemble each other closely, the Strandjuttersbier being maybe slightly more sourish, the acids less covered (aspartamed??) than the Keyte.

Pale yellow colour, white head. Aroma is soapy, with sme citrus and hops. Flavour is soapy as well, sweet, with citrus and coriander. Average beer.

Bottle. Light light unclear dark golden yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, fully diminishing, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, wheat, light to moderate hoppy, citrus, lime, light to moderate yeasty, spices, notes of rubberpudder. Initial flavor is moderate sweet, finish flavor is moderate sweet and light acidic with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. (101007)

Orange/amber coloured, medium sized pale tan head, slight fruity nose. Sweet malty and fruity aroma with notes of alcohol and hops. Low carbonation and bitter finish. Quite ordinary brew.

Bottle. Clear medium amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light to moderate yeasty, light malty, toasted, sugar. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. (310807)

Bottle: Poured a dark black with a thick beige color head. Very light aroma but suttle hints of sweetness. Sweet taste of candy and malt.

Bottle: Poured golden to straw color with tons of bubbly carbonation with a bubbly creamy thick head. Aroma was orange peel and spice very fitting for this style. Taste is spicy and littlely citrus, finish with a nice dry bitter hoppiness. Carbonation and alcohol burn gives it a tangy zip.

BB 12/07: Orange amber with a fine egg white lasting fluffy head. Very speciel fruity, yeasty, earthy & slight spicy aroma. I like it. Taste is earthy and quite "old" or matured as well. This one would probobly been better a year ago. Sligth metallic.. malty, yeasty & fruity Medium soft body. Aroma was promising - taste disappointing!
