Bottled at the Belgian Embassy in Oslo. (As Keyte Tripel Blond) Pours an almost clear, golden-blond body with a white head. Hoppy nose with spices and fruityness, quite pleasant. Spiced flavor with pale malt, some citrus and a good bitterness. Medium to full body, and a fruity finish with apples and canned pears. Pleasant and quaffable, dangerously hiding the 7.7% ABV. Rating: 7-3-7-4-14-3.5. 080410

Bottled. Light golden, almost yellow, with a small white head. Candi-sweetness dominates the aroma but there is malts and hops too. The sweetness dominates the flavor too, and it also has alcohol. Dry, lightly hopped finish. Rating: 6-3-6-3-13-3.1. 060328

Bottle, 33cl. It pours a slightly hazy, golden body under a dense, finger-thick off-white head. Lots of bubbles. Nice, but weak aroma with tropical fruits and white sugar, some spices and yeast notes. A little hint of citrus and banana too. Full-bodied and smooth on the palate, with a bit too much sugar, almost drowning the fruity flavors. A little spiced touch in the background, and a hint of bitterness. There’s some bitterness in the finish, but not much. Enough to bring in a certain amount of balance though. Overall, a nice beer, not outstanding, but very drinkable indeed. And the lacings it leaves in the glass are gorgeous. 091118

Bottle from Noel Cuveliers beer shop with a picture of said shop/farm on the label. Golden Belgian ale. Some yeast hop aroma, some resiny hop with golden syrup mixed in. Residual sweetness on the end but with some good agressive hop to balance it. Touch of peach as well. Overall just a tad sweet and unsophisticated. Lemon citrus is quite nice though

Bottled little bar in Bruges 03-11-05. Darkish golden colour, fruity yeasty aroma, fruity and smooth tasting beer.

Bottle. Hazy pale yellow colour with a big white head. Fruity yeasty aroma with some spicy hints. Fruity flavor with some hints of the yeast and citrus. Has a fruity aftertaste.

Draught at ZBF 2006. Clear darkbrown colour with a tan head. Slightly sweet fruity aroma with some hints of wood. Sweet fruity flavor with some hints of wood and some sourness. Sweet aftertaste.

Draught Deep-chestnut colour; yellow-brownish-beige head, small. Woody-acetic, severy nose; typical fo the wood at Strubbe. Something moldy-chocolatey as well. Chocolate is the first impression to come up. Velvety, slightly cheesy flavour MF as a hard cheese growing some unwanted unicellular greenery. But that sounds too pejorative. It’s rather good, with a distinctive aged, oxydised in the best possible way, character; Velvety, smooth, no acidburn. This is really good, but a Grand Cru from an oud bruin ought to be effing GREAT. And that, it isn’t.

Bottle at Paters Vaetje, Antwerp. Found this rating on a scrap of paper at the bottom of my bag after I ran out of space in my book. Poor planning. Very attractive reddish copper colour with thinish white head. Not a bad caramel/citric tangerine thing, but not a fan of this.

Bottle at Paters Vaetje, Antwerp. Pale gold colour with thick white head. Citrusy aroma, very much like a wit, aroma of a wit too. Good cereal, nice in mouth. Very pleasant, but bit odd in places. Would be good on a hot day. Some stickiness on finish

Bottled. Clear amber, minimal head. Fruity aroma with some spun sugar. Sweet with soft mouthfeel. The dominant flavour is canned pineapple in syrup. In the end it’s too sweet for me.
