What we work hardest at is the quality of our beer. When we heard that one of the world’s greatest breweries - Russian River in Northern California - was selling its brewhouse, we knew we had to get our hands on it. We worked night and day to raise the cash, sailed it through the Panama Canal and now it has a new home, here in London.

[33cl can from Beer52.] A bright golden amber pour with a scattering of white head, and good lacing on the glass; malty aroma with a touch of caramel; smooth malty body with nuts and caramel; then a grassy bitterness and a touch of warming spice to finish.

330ml can via Beer52: Drank at home on 14th January 2024. Poured into my 'Good People' (of Birmingham, Alabama) US Pint sleeve glass. Off white crust on a clean amber/reddish body. Malty, semi-sweet, floral/fruity tones, some herbal influences too. Interesting compared to a few I've tried in this style, like a hybrid Alt and Dunkel.

Can from Beer52. This has been brewed and canned at Forest Road and looks like they have changed a Santa Monica recipe. Would be a new brewery for me if re-labelled - I'll wait and see as unsure of rules! Pours a mostly clear gold with white head. Aroma of orange, apricot, pine. Quite a drying beer with some lime, pineapple, grapefruit, pine, grain notes. Fruit salad and resin finish but lacks a punchy bitterness.

1/2 pint @ Forest Road brewpub Hackney.
