500 ml bottle, from Gulating Ølutsalg, Stavanger. Clear copper to amber colour, moderate head, slightly off-white. Aroma of malts, brown bread, syrup and honey, also earthy English hops. The flavour is slightly more sweet than dry, with discrete notes of syrup and honey, also bready malts and earthy hops, some berry hints too. Good body for its ABV. Well balanced and enjoyable.

Bottle from Quenchers, Bideford. It pours clear golden with a bubbly white head. The aroma is toasty grain, but bready, cereal, dusty and paper. The taste is dry, bitter, quite sweet actually, apple, pear, toasty grain, cereal, touch soapy with a dry, grainy finish. Lightish body, low carbonation and oily mouth - feel. A bit shit really and very far from "the ultimate pale ale" as advertised. Grainy and very meh.

Behaglieg, citruspreget bitterhet.

Bottle from the brewer's own stall at the Dartmouth Food Festival. Deep gold with a thin white head. Mild and slightly sour citrus flavour. Some leafy hops. Bready malts. A pretty dull and basic golden ale; I'm not sure why they feel they need the sexist claim that it's a real man's beer, or a skull and crossbones on the label. Both of these just annoy me and stop me wanting to try anything else from this uninspiring brewery ever again.
