Bottle at home. Aroma is roasted malt, caramel, some smoke and ash, fruity hops, chocolate, coffee, liquorice. Flavour is sweet with a nice hopppy bitterness in the finish. Some alcohol noticeable. Body is full. I don’t taste the promised oranges, but even without them this is a delicious Imperial Stout. Lots of liquorice and roast, fruity hops with coffee and chocolate notes. Delicious.

Bottle at home. Aroma is coffee beans, some mocha, cold coffee, zesty citrus, some weird apasaragus/vegatable-ish element, hint of tropical fruits. Flavour is about moderate bitter. Medium bodied. Now I love coffee and I love IPA and I love being open-minded about experiments, but this clash of styles does not appeal to me, it just doesn’t work.

Bottiglia.

Bottle at home. Aroma is lots of oak, vanilla, malts, raisins, caramel, hint of coconut, toffee, dried fruity notes, some alcohol. Flavour is sweet, a bit sticky. Finish is dry, body is above medium. Certainly a fine Quad with a big oaky vanilla aroma, I expected a bit more from the US hops.

Bottle at home. Aroma is strong oak, harsh iodine, whiskey, some vanilla, nutty, almonds, paint thinner, figs, creamy, a bit peaty. Flavour is medium sweet with some boozy notes. Body is above medium. Interesting. I like the nutty touches and the big oak, but I found the harsh iodine / paint thinner a too much. Total barrel takeover, not a trace of the American hops to be found.

Bottle at home. Aroma is massive oak, dark malt, roast, sweet liquorice, plenty of vanilla, touch of dark chocolate, more strong woody notes. Flavour is sweet, slightly sticky. Body is medium to full. I think they’ve gone a bit overboard with the use of wood in this beer.
