22oz bottle–pours a rich brown head and black color. Aroma is sweet dark malt-molasses/chocolate, wood, secondary pine hops. Taste is ashy/roasty, dark malt-molasses/chocolate/coffee, wood, secondary earthy/acidity pine hops. Mid-palate the sweetness comes thru but is still dominated by ashy and acidic. Full body.

July 2009 Beer of the Month Club , 8/3/09
Aroma: Citrus, spice, bready, other fruits
Appearance: Hazy orange-amber color, 1/2 inch foamy white head, lots of lacing
Flavor: Light hop taste, bit of spice malts, light, a touch dull for me
Palate: Lightish body, clean, easy to drink
Overall Impression: A bit dull for me, but not bad. I just would prefer a bit more character across the board...

July 2009 Beer of the Month Club , 7/31/09
Aroma: Light citrus nose, touch of spice, bready, some grass
Appearance: Cloudy orange-golden color, really small white head, light lacing
Flavor: Kind of a light hop taste, mild spice, bit of a tang, a little dull flavor-wise
Palate: Light body, a bit fizzy
Overall Impression: This beer is just kind of boring. Not a ton going on here. It's not bad, certainly has more character then you're average light, beer, I'll give it that, but in the end it's just a little too dull to go much higher then this.

Bottle @ RBESG Grand Tasting 2009. Golden color, huge head. Grapefruit and red berries and oily hops in the aroma. Earthy hopbitter flavor with grapefruit. Too harsh, especially in the finish.

RBESG Sheffield 2009 Grand Tasting at the Harlequin. Hazy orange colour, big white head. Big citric hoppy grapefruit aroma. Flavour is extremely bitter, citrus, grapefruit, fruity, melon, a bit cloying. Drying bitter finish. A bit too aggressive imo. Medium bodied.

i gave high marks for my surprise, I wasnt thinking this was going to be all that remarkable, but it really is, a great IPA, not on the same tier as some Cali IPA’s but a worthy contender.

Cisco Sucks! Cisco Sucks! Well, at least their quality control does. Once again, I get an explosion of foam and have to wait 20 minutes until the beer is at least remotely drinkable. Pours all foam into a shaker. Meringue head fills glass and seafoams as it recedes. Lemon joy aromas. Crisp lemon muffin upfront turning to a sharp metallic hop finish. Not a bad beer once the negative pour experience recedes.

Pours pale gold into a shaker. Bright white head with medium retention recedes leaving slight spots to skim surface. Sour malt and marshmallow aromas. Thin and bready with upfront caramel and a mild hop finish.

Bottle with a ton of sediment at the bottom. Coca-cola brown body with rock head with large bubbles. Good retention. Aroma of cocoa dust, dirt and leather, with a nice mocha quality. Also a little roasty and metallic finish to the nose. Taste is very roasty with low residual sugars. Earthy, leathery and dry components. Slight metal. Bitter chocolate and a bit of dark fruits. A bit thin and dry on the mouth. Alcohol isn’t really detectable.
