Very strong offering here. Had some on tap at Rattle n Hum in NYC. Pours a nice orange hue with a medium, white head. Very hoppy nose with hints of flowers and citrus fruits. Flavor is deeply hoppy. Nice lip-smacking, bitter finish.

Bottle at RBESG 09 Sheffield. Cloudy gold, thick rocky beige head. Just too yeasty, metallic and gushing. Jesus, tha’s hoppy. Hop juice. Even for me that was just too hoppy.

22oz bottle–pours a rich brown head and black color. Aroma is sweet dark malt-molasses/chocolate, wood, secondary pine hops. Taste is ashy/roasty, dark malt-molasses/chocolate/coffee, wood, secondary earthy/acidity pine hops. Mid-palate the sweetness comes thru but is still dominated by ashy and acidic. Full body.

July 2009 Beer of the Month Club , 8/3/09

Aroma: Citrus, spice, bready, other fruits
Appearance: Hazy orange-amber color, 1/2 inch foamy white head, lots of lacing
Flavor: Light hop taste, bit of spice malts, light, a touch dull for me
Palate: Lightish body, clean, easy to drink
Overall Impression: A bit dull for me, but not bad. I just would prefer a bit more character across the board...

July 2009 Beer of the Month Club , 7/31/09

Aroma: Light citrus nose, touch of spice, bready, some grass
Appearance: Cloudy orange-golden color, really small white head, light lacing
Flavor: Kind of a light hop taste, mild spice, bit of a tang, a little dull flavor-wise
Palate: Light body, a bit fizzy
Overall Impression: This beer is just kind of boring. Not a ton going on here. It's not bad, certainly has more character then you're average light, beer, I'll give it that, but in the end it's just a little too dull to go much higher then this.

RBESG Sheffield 2009 Grand Tasting at the Harlequin. Hazy orange colour, big white head. Big citric hoppy grapefruit aroma. Flavour is extremely bitter, citrus, grapefruit, fruity, melon, a bit cloying. Drying bitter finish. A bit too aggressive imo. Medium bodied.

i gave high marks for my surprise, I wasnt thinking this was going to be all that remarkable, but it really is, a great IPA, not on the same tier as some Cali IPA’s but a worthy contender.
