A bright golden ale full of a pale fruity nose, no head. It has a fair bitterness to it but remains full of flavour.

Bottle from Booths, Media City. It’s almost an amber beer in style and look with a pleasant orange citrus taste, but its texture is also that of a bitter, but not a best bitter. Tangy and tasty.

Very rich with quite a creamy texture. Strong roasted malty flavour but not too bitter. Has a slightly herbal, floral in the aroma too.

50cl bottle from the Tatton estate shop. Deep chestnut with a dense beige head, thick at first, but settling to a thin scum; rich earthy aroma with malts and molasses; soft, with a bitter, woody, smokey flavour; and a dry finish. I was expecting something far sweeter, but this is a pleasant surprise.

50cl bottle from the Tatton estate shop. Bright amber with a ring of white head; a touch of farmyard in the aroma; full and rich with some apricot fruit to start and a smooth malty body; and a gentle but lasting herbal bitterness. Another rather good beer from Tatton.
