Can thanks to SS. Pours with a brilliant, filtered clear yellow body with a white head that lasts for quite a long time. Very effervescent looking. No lace. Earthy, dry, sulfury. Apples, light farmhouse hints, musty, decent acidity, earthy. Champagne, mustard seed. Perfumy, light fusel. Tannins, slightly tangy. Flavors are medium dry throughout although a touch to sweet in the finish for my taste. Medium sulfur, very light leather and farmhouse (less than the nose). Smooth but possibly a bit flabby. Minimal tannic components, earthy finish. Balance is a little sweet overall, not very sharp or defined. Medium to light bodied. Carbonation is medium (thankfully not as high as their other offerings). Minimal tannic balance. Medium to short duration. All this said, easily Crispin’s best cider in my opinion. Decently to style.

500 ml can, $2.30 @ Binny’s. Pleasant apple cider smell, a little vinegary. But a closer inspection does reveal some nice brett character. Apple juice color with a reddish tinge in the glass. Some bubbles that kicked up a head when poured, but only briefly. Taste is sweet and soft, with a little fizz around the tongue. I just ate some Dutch soft cheese, which may have carried over to my palate from my fingers. Easy to swig down like apple juice, but pretty filling as well. Brett acidity is there in the taste, but as part of the overall balance.

Sampled at Texas Beerfest. Pours a clear gold with a small white frothy head. The aroma is sweet fruit and apple. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet fruit and nice lingering dry finish. A good cider from Crispin.

Bottle from Community Bev in Queens. Generic bulbous wine glass. Served chilled & allowed to warm slightly. Yellow/gray color. These guys always seem to take the descriptor "yeasty" to the next level. Appears still, but has enough carbonation to fake half flat champagne. Yeasty, muted cider & twangy apple skins scent. Big, citrus bite upfront. Heavy, banana-ish yeast. Biting alcohol. Apparently low acidity. Bland overall. I actually preferred it over the recommended ice. It helped cut the grainy/yeasty texture, & brought out some subtle bready/honey sweetness. Touch better out of the bottle then on tap(which is much more dry), but still the low point for me in their lineup.

Bottle from New Beer. Hard pour into a shaker pint. Filtered orange/amber brown body. Flash of off-white head. Decided to pay attention on the second pour, & sediment was swirled around as directed. Smell is apple sauce & coco powder. Earthy. Slight banana esters. Different, but so far not ugly. Taste is a lot like a black velvet(cider/stout blend), heavy on the cider. Sharp, bitter sweet start. Ugly buttery middle. Heavy on the molasses. Glue. Stoutly, bitter chocolate & yeasty finish that dries out gradually. Too sweet overall though. Strong carbonation. Slippery feel. An interesting idea that almost worked.

Usually, the phrase "Super Premium Quality" is something to be weary of. Pretty raised label & under $6 for the 22. Baby Duvel glass just because it was within arms reach. More then a quarter inch of sediment on the bottom & I can’t seem to pour slow enough. Screw it, all in. A misty, murky, lightly sulfurous color. Just a bit of fizz. Pineapple juice & banana esters. Apples smell slightly sugary, but sits on the fence for the most part. Very juicy & tropical. Trappist yeast isn’t the first thing that comes to mind, but I like it. Smidgen of caramel that may or may not be the maple syrup at work. Flavor is bitter sweet apple must & generic yeastiness. Dusty. Apple skins. Bigger then expected alcohol, becoming a bit solvent-like. A shot of sharp apricot-like sweetness on the tail. Just a bit chalky. Thicker then average body. Much better then average cider. This was, in fact, better over ice. :P

Moderately strong aroma of fresh and overripe apples. Hazy very pale yellow. Slightly dry, not excessively tart apple flavor. Crisp and refreshing.

A much appreciated bottle from ericandersnavy! Pours hazy orange gold with a few transient bubbles. An oaky/smoky aroma. Med body with coarse carbonation. Flavor is apple with a touch of treacle and some smoke and seemingly bourbon. Some sort of whisky anyway. And at 8% there isn’t really any heat. So here’s a cider that can proudly stand beside beer. Good drink.

Pour is a pee yellow with a short fizzy head. Aroma is apples and white wine. Flavor is sugar some and granny smith apples. Finish is watery and dry. An ok cider and nothing artifical stands out.
