Flat, cloudy dark amber color. Aroma is slightly dry boozy, peat, bark, alcohol, old rope, burnt caramel, grain, soil, fruit stones, hints of dried dark fruits. Taste is dry boozy, bark, peat, old rope, oak, caramel malts, alcohol, soil, fruit stones, burnt toast, cardboard, dried dark fruits. Medium biterness, harsh boozy mouthfeel. Not my cup of coffee.

Keg at If It Ain't Dutch. Almost clear deep brown beer, small pale tan head. Airy and semi dry palate, decent fine carbonation. Light malts, a little earthy creamy mess. Vague cake sweetness. Modest ripe fruits on the back end. Light and semi dry finish. Bit of a nothing brew. How is this an Impy Pastry? A modest imperial brown maybe.

Tap at the Dutch bar bermondsey. A light hazed brown nutty colourd pour with a sticky khaki head. Aroma is semi sweet. Nutty, brown sugars, red berries. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, toast, berries, cranberry, brown sugars, palate is semi sweet chewy, moderate carbonation. Good stuff.

Keg at If It Ain't Dutch, 03/07/24. Dark mahogany brown topped with a beige cap. Nose is tangy dark fruit rinds, mellow port barrel, oak, prunes, dates, toffee. Taste comprises earthy fruits, toffee, fruit cake, figs, light spice, dark malts, mellow port vibes, vinous trace. Medium plus bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced whisper of alcohol. Tidy sipper.

A: clear amber, small, off-white head.
A: apple juice & peel, plum, bell pepper, fruit cake.
T: sweet red apple, fruit cake, spicy bell pepper.
F: peppery hops, intense chili burn, earthy bell pepper.
P: medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation.
Probably too old anyway, but way too spicy in a dirty way.

Bottle from the brewery. '2020 series'. Clear dark amber-brown, small, foamy, off-white head. Aroma of ruby port, blue grape, wood, almond, blackcurrant, unripe cherry, carré confiture. Taste has sweet-sour blue plum, grape & currants in an almondy, fruit cake-like malt body; somewhat herbal & woody bitter. Herbal hops in the finish, lingering dried fruits, soft woody tannins, and warming port-like alcohol (but fairly subtle at this ABV). Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Very fruity, berry-like, vinous, lacking a bit in malt body.

Clear dark red brown beer, small creamy aery irregular beige head, unstable, falls down quickly. Aroma: earthy, dusty, oxidized, alcohol, wood notes, a bit vinous, nice! MF: lively carbon, medium body. Taste: bitter start, oxidized, earthy, spicy, soft roast, a little sweet, more oxidized. Aftertaste: dry, bitter, earthy, spicy, good stuff, gentle bitterness, more oxidation, good stuff!

Backlog September 2011.Dark brown body under a small, dense beige head. Pleasant aroma of mild smoked malt, peat and some alkohol. Taste has more peat than expected from aroma, smokes malt, oak, vanilla, alcohol and bitterhops. Boled and nice with a more subtile aroma than taste.

Backlog September 2011. Slightly unclear orange body under a fine, creamy off-white head. Nice fresh hop aroma with citric fruit and some malt as well. Taste is medium sweet malt, citric fruit, peaches and nice bitterness. Balanced body with a fine, bitter aftertaste.

Frothy off-white fair mostly diminishing head. Dark brown colour. Moderate malty and light hoppy aroma. Heavy bitter very peated flavor. Long heavy bitter finish. Creamy palate.
