330mL bottle, pours black with a small beige head. Nose is full on Islay barrels, with lots of peated whiskey, light smoke, and iodine. Flavour is loaded with iodine and creosote -- full-on Islay whiskey barrels, medium roast, and light sugars. Really great Islay expression. Tasty.

Bottle split at the Level 6 Xmas Bash, thanks to Danny, 15/12/22. Mahogany brown with a beige cap that veers edgewards. Nose is wood must, peated malts, toffee, spice, dried fruit rinds. Taste comprises dark and smoked malts, TCP, spice, charr, toffee, dates, raisins. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced spike of alcohol. Decent peated Barley Wine ... maintains a good balance and the peat aspects don't take over.

27/4/2024. Bottle shared at fonefan Ulfborg tasting. Pours clear dark amber with minimal head. Aroma is toffee, bready, dried fruits, musty wood, hint of polythene. Quite syrupy sweet with medium bitterness. Full bodied, sticky, low carbonation. Warming boozy finish. Bit heavy going.

Fles via Bart en Hillig, thuis geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een diep donkerbruin bier met weinig tot geen schuim. Het heeft een aroma van caramel en chocolade. De smaak is vol, warm, chocolade, koffie en rozijnen, met een hint van drop.

0.33 l bottle from 'Drankgigant.nl', best before December 2026. A bit hazy, very dark ruby with a thin, frothy, quickly diminishing, light brown head. Intensely sweetish-malty, gently herbal-spicy, slightly roasty aroma of molasses, dark chocolate, licorice root, some cinnamon and a touch of lovage. Heavily sweet, malty, quite roasty, gently bitter and rather medicinal-boozy taste of molasses, dark chocolate, hard roasted coffee, lots of licorice root, cinnamon, some lovage and hints of raisins, followed by a long, quite roasty-bitter, very boozy, almost peppery finish. Full body, thick and viscous mouthfeel, flat. Heavy and intense beer, liqueur-like, quite nice to sip on despite it's high alcohol level.

Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, caramel, sweet malt, dried fruit. smoke - medicine touch. Body is medium to full, texture is oily - creamy, carbonation is soft to flat, finish feel is warming and moderate alcoholic. [20240427]
