Tasting at Papsø
Hazy amber color; medium sized head. Nice aroma of caramel, light toffee (well, butter), but then followed by vegetables. Sweet caramel flavor, a bit buttery, but mostly with vegetables; strong bitterness, and too high alcohol perception. Unprofessional.

Bottled. A pale amber beer with a thin orangey head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and burnt plastic. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of caramel and malt as well as some notes of burnt plastic, leading to a dry and lightly plastic finish. Thanks KimJohansen for sharing.

Bottle 30 cl. Courtesy of KimJohansen. Pours a clear amber with a small, rough off-white head. Massive butter in the nose - almost cloying. Solid body, lots of caramel, a little fruit and again quite some butter. Burning alcohol finish. Totally out of balance. 030410

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Best before 06/2010. Pours with a large, off-white head and a brown body. Aroma of apple, fruit, grain and alcohol. Taste is alcohol, toasted grain and something salty. Creamy carbonation.

On tap at ’t Arendsnest. Black colour, beige-brown head. Aroma of pure ground coffee and a bit of chocolate. Flavour is coffee, like chewing on ground coffeebeans, very bitter, some chocolate, hard roasted malts. There is some sweetness for balance, but it’s almost overpowered by the strong coffee. Body is just a bit thin at times. Not bad at all, I’m just not really into coffee stouts.

30 cL bottle. Pours clear deep orange with a huge off-white head. Aroma is butterish and light fruity. Sweet malty, mild citric and light peachy hops flavoured. Bitter and bone dry. Smooth and fruity finish. Not as solid as the the US DIPAs, slight yeasty, surely dry and yet also vague butterish flavoured. Dry bitter finish.
