Bottle listed as 10.5% from City Beer. Pours with a hazy honey brown body with a minimal off-white head that fades. Aroma of honey, dates, dried fruits, craisins, and oat based cereals. Toffee, brown sugar, caramel. Taste is boozy, sweet, cereally, oats, a bit bitter, brandy. Pretty decadent. I actually like the overt booziness of it. Bitter (in an astringent grain way), but not too oppressively so. Medium to low bubbles. Huge body. I like it better than my rating suggests.

Bottle from City Beer (bottle mentions that it was aged on oak for two months). Thick brown-black pour with a large deep tan head. Head is long lasting and leaves great lace. Aroma of earth, toffee, licorice, chocolate, roast and raisin. A bit of vanilla and chestnuts. Mocha. Taste is bitter, dusty cocoa, chocolate, nuts, asphalt. A bit oily. Raisins. Kind of tannic and astringent. Earthy, tobacco, bitter. A bit of back strap molasses in the long finish. Pretty good. Medium to high bubbles for the style. A bit chalky.

Draft. Hazy brown color. Aroma of subtle hay. Taste of bitter almonds, pretty similar to what I would imagine cyanide poisoning is like. Could not finish this one.

Draught at Arendsnest. Muddy, shitty looking brown. Nice, rich smoked aroma, very maty. Sweet smokey flavor of caramel and chocolate, with burnt wood and a strongly bitter finish. A bit harsh, very sweet, with something like miso and lots of umami. Interesting, if not quite perfect.

Bottle@home. Black color with dark (but small) head. At first a strong smell of mocha, later roasted coffeebeans. Taste is malty sweet with lots of roast and coffee, lingering on for a long time, joined by a slight bitterness in the finish. Lovely coffee stout.

From cask. Pours dark brown to black with a fully gone head. Aroma is dark malty, wooden, fruity and dry phenolic note. Lasting roasted malt and smoked. Slight tarish from back of the tongue. Lasting fruity note. The smoked notes stay persistingly into the far finish. Nice.
