Bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours black with a light tan head. Aromas of coffee, chocolate, vanilla, caramel, toffee, burnt malts. Very nice nose. Flavours of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, demerara sugar, caramel, smoke. Dry, vinous mouthfeel. Finishes dry, malty with a warming alcohol burn. Excellent, just how an imperial Russian stout should be.

Murky brown color, small beige head. Chocolaty, yeasty aroma with some alcohol. Caramelly, chocolaty, a bit nutty flavor, finish and aftertaste has bitterness & alcohol. Quite caramelly and alcoholic.

10.14oz bottle stating 11.0% ABV pours clear copper with thin off white head leaving behind an impressive solid yeast cake in the bottle. The modest aroma is a mix of pine and citrus hops and a touch of sour like grapefruit. The taste begins with tart grapefruit, orange peel hop bitterness and then picking up some pine hop resiny bitterness. It then sweetens up into citrus hard candy like flavors thanks to the malts coming forward a bit. Into the finish the citrus and pine hop bitterness grow to a moderate level. Nice stuff that I would love to try really fresh.
