Bottle. 4.1%. Aroma of wet rag, a little chocolate maltiness and smoke. Brown colour, unstable cola head. Mild, pleasant maltiness. Chocolate aftertaste.

500 ml brown bottle, bought in Denmark. ABV there is 4.7%. Golden colour, moderate head. Moderate aroma - some grass, flowers and honey. Flavour is fairly clean with a moderately hoppy finish, aftertaste does not last forever. An average drinkable pilsener, but not much more than that.

500 ml bottle, bought in Denmark, as B.B. (Budweis Bohemia) Dark (red label). The brown labeled 4.1% version was sold side by side. Pours copper coloured (darker than the 4.1% version), good light tan head. Aroma of caramel malts but also fruity aromatic hops. Flavour is one-dimensional caramel malts, a bit too sweet (even sweeter than the weaker version) but still drinkable.

500 ml bottle, bought in Denmark. The 4.1% and the 4.7% B.B. Dark versions were sold side by side, with a different label. This version pours relatively light reddish brown with a moderate off-white head. Moderate aroma of caramel malts, hints of oak and roastiness. Flavour is relatively sweet and one-dimensional of caramel malts, but not unpleasant. Notes of fresh rye bread. Light bodied, easy drinking.

A golden beer with a huge white head. The aroma is hoppy and dusty combined with some notes of caramel. The flavor is caramel and a very crisp fresh hoppy one, with a nicely bitter finish. A good example of a Bohemian Pils. Very refreshing.

330 ml green bottle, now available in Norway. Sold in brown bottles for the Czech home market. Golden colour, good to moderate head, little lacing. 1795 is another "budweiser" from the town of Budejovice / Budweis (= another Bohemian pilsener, for anyone else but Czech appellation fanatics) with a pleasant Saaz aroma, elements of flowers and grass. Flavour is clean tasting, smooth and soft with moderate but pleasant hops. Just a faint hint of "boiledness" in the background, but not enough to make it disturbing. A nice quaffing pils, not an orgasmic experience but certainly easy drinking.

Small disappearing greige head; dark red-brown beer. Burnt-bready nose, Maillard-like. Rather sweet smell for a stout, certainly an Imperial one. Sweet liquorice taste; cola with some burnt malts and hops (presumably also burnt). Ends more grainy, roasted, but always sweet. Light, thinnish body, bit of alcohol. My Imperial *ss. Pardon my French, but this isn’t even a real stout, full stop. This is a, rather ordinary, Schwarzbier, with some alcohol steroids.

Bottle: Golden colour, thin white head; malty nose; sweetish-malty taste with a short dry bitter finish; quaffable, a bit too light-bodied...............

(Bottle 33 cl) Deep golden - pretty close to the Budweiser from the same town. Full-bodied, slightly sweetish with pronounced malty notes - you really taste the grain in this. Decently hopped also. 110104
