(Draught at Beer Temple, Amsterdam, 30 Aug 2015) Black colour with dense, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with pine needles, rye bread, coffee and grapefruit. Malty, roasted taste with notes of coffee, pine needles, cacao, grapefruit, black rye bread and a generous roasty, piney bitterness. Full body, quite dry. Solid and well made imperial stout with an impressive hop presence. Alcohol fairly well hidden. Very nice.

Draught. Clear bright yellow with small off-white foamy head, faint vanilla aroma, high carbonation, characteristic Belgian yeast taste, thin body, medium bitter finish. Quite a good brew.

Pours hazy citrus into a tulip. Bright white head with little retention recedes leaving soapy spots. Yeast and coriander aromas. Soft with sour citrus and. berry upfront turning to salty marshmallow in the lasting finish.

This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a glossy yellow color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than a minute. Lingering speckled to somewhat spider web lacing roamed around the glass.
The smell started off with some white pepper leading on to a sly little bit of citrus (lemon and clementine, mainly).
The taste was moderately sweet with a light spice from the white pepper adequately sliding in for the balance. The aftertaste was moderately sweet with a nice white pepper finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionable crisp spicy feel clinging to my tongue. Carbonation is fairly light allowing the spices to hit appropriately.
Overall, what a nice white ipa. I’d have this again and would think this would go well with a nice New York strip steak with crumbled bleu’ cheese on top.

The smell had some light of tropical fruit, and peppery spice. After a bit of warming, there’s some rye malt.
The taste was basically the same with an added sweet breadiness intertwining and leading into the aftertaste. There’s a dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation runs fairly light allowing the spice to hit a bit harder for the harshness level of this beer.
Overall, whoah, better than expected from Two Roads. I’d have this again, nice saison leaning to the spicier side of the wheelhouse.

[9/28/15] Draught at Beer Temple in Amsterdam. Cloudy yellow. Aroma of citrus, faint spiciness, citric hops. Flavor is quite dry, with citrus, spicy hint, and a bitter citric hops finish. Medium-bodied.

Bottle @ holiday resort in Malta. Clear brown with a lasting beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and dried fruit. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. 161015
