Description
The brewery Fuglsang can rightly call itself Denmark's oldest family-owned brewery. Søren Christian Fuglsang founded the brewery in 1865, and today it is some of his great-grandchildren who, with respect for the craft and the raw materials, produce solid South Jutland beer.
The family also runs its own export malt factory, which is Denmark's largest and one of the few independents in Europe - it is the one that supplies a large part of the good malt to Fuglsang's beer.

Draught. Weak malty aroma. Clear dark golden colour. Stable white head. The flavour has some paper, mild caramelly maltiness. Good bitterness, distinct and German-tasting.

Boks fra Føtes, på hytta: kanskje litt urettferdig dagen etter cbc, men dette er kjedelige saker. "Ekstra kraftig gylden bock" får stå for bryggeriets regning. Vil dog prøve et par andre Fuglsang senere.

can from Irma, Copenhagen - golden/light yellow pour with a thin white head. Only very slight hop notes, some pine, straw, mostly malty. Rather thin in body. Nothing amazing but certainly not the worst pils i have tasted.

50 cl can @ Timo A, BBE 27.04.2013
Aroma is sweet with honey and malty notes. Flavour is odd with lots of nettles and herbs. Also some sweetish malt and honey. Also some peppery spices. Becomes rather sticky after some sips. Decent.

Can. Pours hazy darkish amber with airy off-whie head. Clear aroma of malt, hops and grain with a touch of caramel. Sweetish, malty onset, changing into a sourish, grainy body. Rather watery mouthfeel. Dry aftertaste. Not bad but nothing revolutionary.

Can. Pours clear pale golden with stable white head. Clear aroma of hops with grassy and citrus notes. Bitter, hoppy flavour with occasional grainy touches. Dry, metallic and quite unpleasant finish. Drinkable but nothing to write home about.

500ml can, trade with Skinnyviking. Declining rocky white head. Near clear, yellow-gold body. Very restrained smell of sweet pale malts. Way too sweet malty taste with notes of metallic alcohol. Anonymous drain pour, to be polite (hotel room, Copenhagen 23.03.2013)
