Description
The brewery Fuglsang can rightly call itself Denmark's oldest family-owned brewery. Søren Christian Fuglsang founded the brewery in 1865, and today it is some of his great-grandchildren who, with respect for the craft and the raw materials, produce solid South Jutland beer.
The family also runs its own export malt factory, which is Denmark's largest and one of the few independents in Europe - it is the one that supplies a large part of the good malt to Fuglsang's beer.

500 ml can, courtesy of Geokkjer. Golden body with a decent white head. Aroma has some grain and sweetish malt, almost perfumed. Flavour is sweet grain with a harsh, with metallic bitterness. Rather nasty but possible to drink.

Bottle. Pours clear pale golden with airy white head. Clear aroma of hops. Bitter, hoppy aroma. Dry, slightly metallic finish. Quite bitter but not bad as such.

330 ml bottle, from a border shop near Flensburg (where I nearly ruined their system by buying a single bottle, they normally sell it only in whole crates). ABV is 4.8%. Pale yellow colour, pours very fizzy with a large to moderate white head. Strong sweetish aroma of pilsener malts, candy and grass. The flavour is bland and medium sweet, notes of malt sugar, not offensive, but has far too little bitterness to deserve to be called a "pilsener". Could have been worse though.

Pale yellow colour with acceptable head. Aroma is quite malty. Taste begins malty as well, but changes quickly to a hoppy feel, though it isn’t bitter at all.

Bottle. Pours clear dark golden with negligible foam. Smells of malt and urine, tastes of malt and (probably) urine. Ding dong, the choice is wrong.
