Pours a nearly black, very darkened brown. Small creamwhite head. Scent is soft, gentle, smooth - but nog light, obviously. it is however not the most intense nose. Gives away some of the dark sugar, a tad caramel, roasty hints (way less than the average Imperial Stout ). Bit Belgian yeast like - I get the quad idea in this stout. Taste is robust and intense, not overly thick, but certainly thick. sweet, but not over the top. Tha 15 % gives it some booze, for me personally to much though , as it overpowers the beer itself - leaving some sweetness and maltyness, but in the amped up style of heavy-beers-for-the-sake-of-being-heavy (Kasteelbier, to name one) This one certainly has a lot more going on, but it's burried beneath the too high alcohol content - the beer isn't very balanced by that, and honestly this feels more like a gimmick / get drunk fast beer, than it being 15 % cause thats what the beer needs.

Bottle. Color: Black, no head. Aroma: Roasted coconut, hints of roastedmalt. Taste: Very dense, oily. Very low carbonation. Roasted coconut, molasses, vanilla, some cinnamon, roasted malt in the background. Bit boozy. Medium sweet, moderate to over moderate bitterness. Full body. One of the most dense beers I've ever had. Roasted coconut is overwhelming but not in an annoying way.

I can say that I like what Atrium does with their labels. And the beers have been all right. Onyx this evening in a 33 cl bottle that was delivered by Etre Gourmet and is now being poured into a snifter. The body is a dark chocolate brown with a tawny brown skim of foam. I smell cocoa, sorghum and grain. The taste, well, a step up. A bit of char but not enough to overwhelm, baking chocolate, coffee, wheat bread, plums and some hard candy. Distinctly bitter at the end. A nice but not exceptional imperial stout.

(Bottle, 0.33 l, from Alus Celle, 20221021) The beer poured clear and nearly black. Its head was small and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, coffee and cocoa powder. Palate was full bodied and dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, cocoa powder, ash, dark chocolate and bitterness. Aftertaste was ashy, burnt and bitter. A tasty burnt brew with chocolate notes.

My 33 cl bottle came from Etre Gourmet back in the summer. I had an amburana imperial stout from Oskar Blues a few years ago. A very good beer. Time to see how Atrium does it. I have had a Belgian snifter out working for some other brews, no reason to change. The label is cool, rather dark and stoic. The body is dark also, dark brown, just short of black with a toast colored skim of foam. I have to say the scent is intoxicating with wood, chocolate, grain and syrup. The drink only exceeds the standard set by the nose. Amburana wood as I remember it, bakers chocolate, berries, molasses, caramel, scorched wheat bread, some licorice and a moderate bitterness at the finish. A really fine beer.
