Cask handpull at Victoria, Earl Soham. Chestnut, lasting beige head. Excellent condition. Strong hop and rich brown sugar malt aroma. Smooth in mouth, and then a big burst of hop on the finish. Really peppery. Decent best bitter, with a very heavy hop finish for an English beer. Malts are toffeeish.

Cask handpull at Victoria, Earl Soham. Pale copper, thin off white head. Quite a hoppy session bitter, some toffee malt, good dusty drying finish. Some apricot fruit. Rather a nice session beer that has certainly got good hop.

(Cask at Wenlock Arms, London, 23 Nov) Very dark brown colour with small beige head. Malty nose with toffee, nuts and a hint of citrus. Malty, roasted and nutty taste with a hint of Coca-Cola. Rather dry, with a touch of citrussy hops in the finish. Nice and tasty mild.

Bottle August 05 picked up from the shop near the brewery. This was far and away the best of the bottle that I picked up from Earl Soham. A dark brown mild that is really quite full of flavour hops and sweetness show through as do some lovely but well restrained roasted flavours. This is a beer that really suprised me, and was far and away the best that I have had from this brewery. An excellent mild.

Bottle August 05 picked up from the shop near the brewery. Another Earl Soham beer which fails to excite me, light brown in colour, quite hoppy and with a reasonable bitterness present throughout, it’s fine.

Bottle August 05 picked up from the shop near the brewery. Some citrus and malt notes in the aroma, and citrusalso present in the taste there are hops present but like the previous contributor said not really enough. This is a decent enough beer but it hardly sets the pulse racing.

Bottle August 05 picked up from the shop near the brewery. Dark brown coloured some fruitiness and and malt in the aroma. Some fruitiness in the flavour not really porterish and a bit on the thin side, bit dry as well. fine but nothing exciting.
