Description
Defying the odds isn’t just what we do, it’s a part of our DNA. We were founded by a woman in 1867. Lived through two wars. Survived a fire. Overcame the Halifax Explosion. Competed as an independent company against breweries 100 times our size. We haven’t just survived - we’ve thrived. And while others back down, we outlast. Moosehead Breweries Limited is the last major brewery in Canada still owned by Canadians. The brewery is located in Saint John, New Brunswick and operates with values that have been safely guarded by the same family for 148 years. Despite obstacles – devastating fires, Prohibition, the Great Depression, two world wars, obstructive trade barriers, and bruising competition from breweries 100 times its size – Moosehead is one of the most durable and long lasting companies in Canada. Ultimately it has been the Oland family’s passion for beer that has enabled them to be successful over the long term. With their product on beer shelves from the Maritimes to B.C., and its flagship Moosehead Lager shipped to approximately 350 distributors in the U.S.; Moosehead has become an iconic mainstay in North America’s beer industry

This ale pours a clear yellow with a bright white foamy head. Bread dough is the strongest scent presant. Slightly grassy notes. First taste was clean and almost tastless. A slight cardboard taste to it. Pretty watery. The palate is grassy with a very small amount of hops.

MacAuslan version: Yellow fizzy beer.Light grassy nose, with a little skunk making its dirty business. Crisp malt with not much hops. The body is mearily OK. Better to drink this at close to freezng temperature, like they do in Acadia.

Moosehead on tap... that's a rare tap for my area. Appearance: light/medium gold/yellow with a tiny head. Looks crisp, decent carbonation running up the glass. Smell: wheaty/grassy/kinda plain. Nothing special here. Taste: very plain and ordinary. With nothing sticking out, this could be marked "beer" and you'd never guess what beer it actually was. Nothing special whatsoever here. It's drinkable, but nothing I'd ever have the urge to have again.

Light body, slightly fizzy. Some flowery, grassy hops in the aroma. Similar flavour profile. Limited graininess. Quick finish. More balanced than many of its contemporaries, but still not worth buying.

Nice golden brew with a generous head. Strong skunky taste with a small malt aftertaste. This is one of the worst macro I had for a while. I don't see the need to drink this again.

Mine was named Moosehead Lager - but I think it is just a rebranding of the Moosehead beer. The color is golden and it has a fine bubbly head though fast disappearing. The aroma is malty and slightly sour - do I detect brewing cereal? the aroma also contains hoppy notes. The flavor is sweet malty with a slight sourness to go with it - again is it brewing cereal? It ends on a slightly hoppy notes. All in all the flavor is very simple. It is too sweet and a below average international lager.

Light amber. Light body. Fizzy. Light caramel notes. Watery finish. Don’t worry about all this garbage I’m rating, though, I made plenty of time in Nova Scotia for the good stuff (I’ve just had it before so I didn’t have my notebook out).

Not a good taste, and nothing special in the other flavours. A typical lager from another american company.
