The Féculerie farm, erected from the 14th to the middle of the 18th century, in Jandrain-Jandrenouille has been transformed into a brewery since the summer of 2007. Born in 2006, from the infatuation of two university comrades, the original equipment came from the berry brewery. Currently, Alexandre Dumont de Chassart continues the solo project and works to increase the capacity of the brewery as well as the development of new products.

Bottle. Pours amber with a white head. Fresh grape, dark malt, and red orange in aroma. Tastes almost the same. Add some burned caramel. The taste is kind of short. It has the light qualities that all beers from this brewer seems to have, which adds some drinkability. Smooth. Lively carbonation.

Bottle. Sort of american strong ale maltyness acompanied by oranges, red berries and green grapes. A bit too thin for the amount of flavour, the taste ends to quickly.

750 ml bottle courtesy of Stefan. Pours hazy pale golden with a big frothy white head that slowly dissipates while leaving lots of trace and lacing on the glass. Smell is sweet with dusty barnyard, orange zest, lemon juice, plums, hay, white pepper and coriander. Taste is tiny sweet, slightly sour and tiny bitter with lemon juice, orange peal, white pepper, wheat bread and dusty barnyard. Mouthfeel is watery, tiny tart and thin to medium bodied. Finish is dry and tiny sour with orange zest, wheat bread and white pepper. A bit thin bodied but very refreshing!

Bottle. Pours brownish red. Interesting aroma with notes of red currant seeds, citrus, candy and something funky (mushrooms?). Taste is quite hoppy, with notes of red orange and apricots. It has also got a dry gooseberry-like quality. Dark fruits in the background. Complex, yet drinkable. Another great beer from this superb brewer!

17/III/2012 - 75cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ "summer house" in the Ardens - BB: see bottle: no date on the bottle (2012-244)

Clear deep red beer, small creamy beige head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: paint at first, pretty vinous, red fruits, overripe plums, sweet, some caramel. Taste: tart red fruits, chocolate, some cranberries, little mocha. Aftertaste: unripe red fruits, cherries, little bitter. Once more, I am not impressed by Jandrain-Jandrenouille. Why is this being hyped so much? I don't get it.
