Description
The Féculerie farm, erected from the 14th to the middle of the 18th century, in Jandrain-Jandrenouille has been transformed into a brewery since the summer of 2007. Born in 2006, from the infatuation of two university comrades, the original equipment came from the berry brewery. Currently, Alexandre Dumont de Chassart continues the solo project and works to increase the capacity of the brewery as well as the development of new products.

Draught at ZBF 2009, Sint-Niklaas, Belgium
Hazy to muddy orange-brown body. Aroma of strong malts overpowered by citric hops (citric like lemon, lime and especially grapefruit). Moderately bitter, moderately sweet flavour. Has a nice hoppy touch of American hops. I thought both Cascade and Amarillo, but the brewed says they used no Cascade ... Bit funny the aromo is this citric as Amarillo tends to be more flowery and Cascade to be more citric ... Very great, clean beer.

Quite clear, bit off-white head. Well balanced aroma of citrus, orange, ... Moderately bitter, lightly sweet flavour, mainly of hops. Good balance and lightly complex. Very nice and very drinkable.

Sampled at Zythos 2009. Cloudy russet, lasting deep biege head. Sour hop aroma which isn’t entirely pleasant. Unbalanced. Hops are all over the place, some mandarin fruit, bit muddy on mouthfeel. Good effort, average execution.

Draught at Zythos Beer Festival, March 7th and 8th 09 Pours mid amber with a white head. The aroma on this beer is grapefruit and light sugary touches There is grapefruit in the mouth but also some soft overipe apricot and along with the hoppiness maybe a little gingery burn as well. Very, very nice. A7 A4 F8 P4 OV16 3.9

Good, short-lived off-white head; hazy amber-orange beer. Very citrussy aroma, minneola’s, kafir-lime. Sweetish taste with slight flowery, and more obvious citrussy notes, cookies, with a retronasal hopbitterness and -flavour. Very spritzy, yet not overcarbonated. In the long aftertaste, delicate flowery-hops notes. Despite poured a bit too warm, again a perfectly enjoyable beer from J-J. Thanks to Joe! Second try Draught Medium, short-lived yellow head over fully hazy orange-amber beer 4/5. Beautiful USA-hops, fresh & delicate, yet powerful. 7/10 Beautiful USA hops, mid-bitter, mid-aroma, lunaria, unripe exotic fruit. 7/10 Just enough malts for medium body, quite slick. 4/5 Just as the bottled version, it’s superb. J-J is one of the best things to arrive to the Walloon beerscene in decades. 15/20

Cloudy urine colored like when you have a bladder infection. Aroma is better than that, though. Flavor is lightly spiced with a slightly bitter, dry finish.

(Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of plovmand. Very hazy pale golden with lots of floaties and a white head. Spicy aroma with a little yeast. Medium body, sweetish malt and fruit with an astringent bitter finish. Mediocre. 230808

Bottle, thx to plovmand. It pours a quite hazy yellowish-golden body with micro-floaties, and a small, white head. Fruity and lemony nose, slightly dusty. A bit lemony flavor, dusty notes, with pale malt, resin, some apple or pear and a pleasant bitterness. Medium body and a bitter finish. Sure, it’s a drinkable beer but it didn’t suit my palate. Would love to try it again though, as it seems most other people enjoy it. Rating: 5-3-6-3-12-2.9. 080823

Bottle, 75cl. A big, white head forms over a lightly hazy golden body. The aroma is grassy, with a citrusy touch. Some pepper and pale malts. It’s fruity and citrusy in the mouth, dry and grassy, with a touch of spices and resins. Pleasant carbonation, Medium body. Lasting finish. A bit too much grass in this one, else it’s a fine saison that I wouldn’t mind repeating. 141231
