Draught Very faintly veiled orange beer under an immovable dense off-white head. Milkchocolate, ureum and human sweat, summer grain, meaty esters. And a fruity element, faintly reminiscent of bricked orange & bananajuice. Almonds, dry malts, coloured malts without sweetness. Taste as eating dry, lightly coloured malted grains. Medium bodied, very faint alcoholwarming. Utterly different from the other J-J beers, but not for the worse. The first malty J-J.

Cappped 750 from Wine and Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours clear dark copper with a transient foamy beige head. Aroma is musty fruit, including some apple. Surprise. The fruit flavor is a bit more like strawberry. Dry, near astringent. Light on the barnyard, but it’s there. Pretty interesting beer.

On tap at Beer Temple, ABV 6%. Hazy yellow colour, white head. Aroma of light sulphurous hops, citrus zest, grapefruit, light wheat. Flavour is light sour, fresh citrus, zesty, nice bitter hoppy citrus finish. Light bodied, tingles the tongue. Very refreshing summer beer.

Bottle: Poured a clear bright golden color ale with a quite large pure white foamy head with light retention and some lacing. Aroma of light citrus and bitter hops with wheat malt and fruity ester is somewhat unique and interesting. Taste was a weird mix between some lightly citrus notes with some light bubblegum wheat malt and some US hops also thrown in the mix. Body was average with good carbonation. Weird mix and not something I would seek on a regular basis but interesting nonetheless.

On tap at Beer Temple in Amsterdam, November 2010. Hazy yellow with a small creamy white head. Nice fruity aroma. The taste was light but refreshing. Would love to drink this beer in the summer. Not much carbonation.

[9/22/10] Draught at Moeder Lambic Fontainas in Brussels. Lovely cloudy yellow-golden with a bit white head. Great hops-yeast aroma with lots of pomelo, some grapefruit, some floral notes and fresh fruit. Flavor starts with a bit of bready and later come yeast, fruits, a bit of earth, and bitter-spicy hops with citrus notes. Medium-bodied. Really good.

Bottle: Chestnut-amber coloured, a bit hazy, bigger loose but stable off-white head; piney-zesty nose, very solid with distinctive malty and fruity traces underneath; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour, soft, medium bodied; slightly lingering hoppy and malty finish with traces of liquorice(!). Fine brw with distinctive "american" influences.....

(Draught at Beer Temple, Amsterdam, 1 Aug 2010) Light golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity nose with notes of citrus, lemon, grass and slightly spicy hops. Malty, spicy taste with lemon, grass, grain and a dry, citrussy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, mainly dry with a generous spicy, citric bitterness. Nice one.
