Description
The Féculerie farm, erected from the 14th to the middle of the 18th century, in Jandrain-Jandrenouille has been transformed into a brewery since the summer of 2007. Born in 2006, from the infatuation of two university comrades, the original equipment came from the berry brewery. Currently, Alexandre Dumont de Chassart continues the solo project and works to increase the capacity of the brewery as well as the development of new products.

Pours orange-tinged brown into a tulip. Off-white conglomerate head with excellent retention slowly recedes to coat surface. Toast, nuts and summer fruit funk aromas. Thin with upfront sweet caramel turning to a slightly sour fruit finish.

Draught at Moeder Lambic Fountainas. Medium amber color with thick lace. Dry, earth nose with grass and spices. Earthy, dry flavor, with nice grass, something like cheese, and a bit of tartness. Also apples and berries. Nice stuff with a somewhat stinky after taste.

Draught at Moeder Lambic Fountainas. Huge fruity aroma, citrus and tropical fruits, like lychee, and strawberry. Light, dry flavor, fruity, with dry tropical fruits. A very complex and hard-to-pinpoint fruitiness. Very nice indeed.

Draught at Moeder Lambic. Very fine head on a brilliant gold beer. Huge citrusy hope aroma, with lovely lemons and oranges, and some honey. Amazingly dry flavor—almost no sweetness—slightly dusty. Lemon is fresh and crisp. A wildly dry finish leaves do sweetness at all. Very refreshing and interesting, with a wonderful aroma.

Tap @ Moeder Lambic, Brussels. Pours unclear yellow with a creamy white head. Fresh and floral nose. Grassy and citrussy hops. A bit of farmyard and yeast. Super dry, smooth and crisp. Low carbonation. Dry end. Nice

(bottle, 75cl) Hazy, deep amber to brown colour with a slightly beige and thick foamy head. Moderately sweet yeasty caramel-malty aroma with fruity, piney and slightly zesty hoppy notes. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter flavour, medium to full bodied with a moderate carbonation. Slightly toasty malty taste with spicy yeasty accents and most of all a cornucopia of fruity, piney and woody hoppy notes; almost dry, slightly toasty finish with a complex hops profile. Wonderful. 25.XIII.10

On tap at GBBF ’10. Pale yellow pour with a long lasting white head. Berries, nuts, plums and blackberry nose. Blackberry, plum pudding and pear flavours. Slight bitterness. Refreshing. I wouldn’t mind a couple of these after a long day toiling the fields.

(Bottle, 0.75 l, at Kuikka) Poured dark brown and hazy. Head was medium sized and white. Aroma was malty, fruity and spicy. Palate was medium bodid with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, fruitiness, Belgian yeas, hops, mildly saltiness, spiciness and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty and bitter. Decent beer but I would not call this a saison.

Draught Good white head, very dense over fully hazy yellow beer. Beautiful C-hops nose, worthy of the best W.C.-IPA’s; citrussy and hoppy lasting. Dry, less citrussy in the mouth, but still extremely hoppy. Dry vegetable taste (courgette?). Bit vinous, even. Light body, spritzy carbonation, very little slickness but the wheat is there. Excellent! Finally a new idea for the worn-out Belgian white idea.

Tap @ Beer Temple. Slight hazy golden yellow color, short head. Aroma of hay, barnyard, some citrus, bit cat pee. Taste is slight sweet, bit sourish, bit dry, some bitter. Decent stuff, but once you have the thought of cat pee in your mind, it gets a bit odd to drink.
