Description

330ml bottle (4.4% ABV): BB 9th Aug 2020. Obtained from Chez Sophie and drank at home on 30th Apr 2020. Poured carefully into an old tall tulip glass (Paderborner Goldpilsener badged). Body is a misty pale yellow, the head a snow white affair that stays around. The nose and taste are leaning towards lemons and unsweetened oranges in nature. Light yeasty notes running through the brew too.

0.33 l bottle from 'Bierothek', bottled in November 2019. Black with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently fruity and slightly roasty aroma of fresh raspberry, some chocolate and a touch of caramel. Gently sweet, minimally sourish, moderately roasty-bitter, quite fruity taste of fresh raspberry, dark chocolate, toasted nuts, some coffee and traces of licorice, followed by a medium long, gently roasty-bitter, a little tart, moderately earthy finish. Medium to full body, smooth, a little astringent and slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. The raspberry and the kveik fit in so well, the balance is close to perfection, it's a masterpiece from Flügge. Great beer!

2020 bottle. Rather clear golden color with foamy white head. Aroma is delicate quince and apples, nice saisony funk. Taste is bready, earthy, subtle fruits, but they are definitely present, superb balance. Foamy carbonation. Very nice one, it's got a quince character, but is definitely beery, and not cidery. Awesome!
4.12.20 bottle, this time apples only. More cidery, but it's still got a great balance and funk.

Bottle. Cloudy amber with floaties suspended despite being upright in the fridge for weeks, low foam head. Fermented grapes, stonefruit, minerals, light metallic, a hint rubber which carries over to the palate. Somewhat strange yeast byproducts, fruity, tropical, citruspeel bitterness, but also industrial/silicone tubing, broad dry earthy, metallic finish. Very unusual, takes some time to get into.

17-04-20 // 330ml bottle from the brewery. Lovely glowing golden colour with a slight haze from the yeast. Not really a head. Vineous, mild sweet grape nose with wood. Very soft, fine sparkling mouthfeel. Sweetish grainy saison body. White grape sweetness, more gewürztraminer than riesling. Minera ls. A mild dry Brettanomyces aroma to the end. Lovely hybrid. Potential to age really good.

(Draught at Moeder Lambic Fontainas, Brussels, 19 Oct 2019) Pale golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty, slightly spicy nose with notes of bread, citrus and grass. Malty, slightly spicy taste with bread, citrus, spicy yeast, grass and a balanced grassy, citric bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, quite dry. Interesting, a little spicy and really tasty. Nice one.
