Description

0.33 l bottle from 'bier.', bottled in July 2018. Hazy, pale straw yellow with a large, foamy, stable, white head. Sweetish, rather fruity, quite funky aroma of barnyard, sweat, gooseberry and some lychee. Slightly sweet, moderately bitter, very fruity and fairly funky taste of lemon peel, gooseberry, pineapple, barnyard and sweat, followed by a medium long, fairly dry, gently bitter and very funky finish. Medium body, smooth and gently effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Very pleasant beer with lots of brett funk and fruity hops, superbly balanced, good!

Huge thanks to Erzengel for sharing! Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass very zippy, nice small head. Malty fruity aroma. Starts malty, light sourish, some fruity hints. Unusual Imperial Stout. Fruity notes like plum, also light lemon hints. Finish well balanced, interesting malty-sourish-fruity combination.

Würziger, süß-säuerlicher Geruch. Wenig säuerlicher Antrunk, erhöhte Karbonisierung mit sektähnlichem Mundgefühl, trocken. Trauben, harmonisch, Süffig, die hintergründige, sehr leichte Süße steigert die Süffigkeit. Interessant! 8/12/10/10/12/11

Bottle. Not completely opaque golden-yellow color with creamy white head. Aroma is distinctly lemony, lactic, wheat, yoghurt, I've had American Berliner Weisses which were closer to this than most Saisons. Taste is milky, lemony, lightly grassy, dough, floral, maracuja. Silky mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Maracuja aftertaste. Impressive for the strength, not too aggressive in its tartness, though definitely not what you'd expect from a Saison. Americans would probably call this "Berliner Weisse".

0.33 l bottle from 'Hopfenrausch', bottled in July 2018. Slow gusher! Clear, golden with a thin, fluffy, slowly diminishing, white head. Slightly sweetish, mainly sourish, rather fruity, vinous and even a little funky aroma of lemon, gooseberry, grapes and some wood. Minimally sweet, fairly dry, medium sour, rather fruity taste of lemon, grapes, gooseberry, some rhubarb and a touch of wood, followed by a short, medium tart, very dry, vinous and a little spicy finish. Thin to medium body, slightly astringent and gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very tasty and well-balanced Sour, quite complex as well, is this a German beer?!

Bottle. Milky yellow color with white head. Aroma is citrus, grassy, quite fresh. Taste is milky yeast, biscuity, mild breadiness, citrus, exotic fruits, very fruity, but not in an in your face way. Thick mouthfeel with medium carbonation, light tartness noticeable that keeps it interesting. Well done, I like! It's pure refreshing milkshake Haze without becoming too sweet, oniony, or cloying. And the Hallertauer hops do their job perfectly!

Starke Karbonisierung. Erfrischender, dezent säuerlicher Beginn. Mild hefig, hintergründige Fruchtigkeit. Erfrischend, ohne sonderlich intensiv zu sein, dennoch lecker und gut ausbalanciert. 9/10/11/9/12/11

0.33 l bottle from 'Hopfenrausch', bottled in May 2018. Hazy, pale brownish orange with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, a bit sourish, fairly fruity, juicy aroma of massive passion fruit, mango and a touch of lemon. Moderately sour, quite dry, very fruity and juicy taste of lots of passion fruit, mango, some rhubarb and hints of lemon, followed by a short, medium tart, very dry finish. Thin to medium body, smooth, gently astringent and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Highly refreshing, not too sour and remarkably juicy, overall a good beer at just 3.5% abv!
