500ml bottle. Clear brown colour with small to average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, decently lacing, off-white head. Dark malty aroma, slightly grainy hints of spelt. Taste is dark malty minimally roasty, a cautious touch of malt sweetness/malt lozenge, some grassy hoppy overtones; light, one-dimensional, slightly watery.

Pours a dark brown with medium head. Mild taste of brown bread, some figs. Quite light for a dark beer.

Flasche (50 cl), erstanden im Klosterladen des Karmelitenklosters St. Theodor in Bamberg. Alkoholgehalt (5,2 %) und Etikett (dunkelblau) entsprechen dem "Jubiläums-Festbier", nur daß hier über "Festbier" in feiner Schrift nicht mehr "Jubiläums", sondern "Keller" steht. Dürfte demnach kein neues Bier sein, sondern nur ein neuer Name für die alte Brühe. - Orangegelb, feinporiger weißer Schaum, klar (obwohl lt. Etikett "unfiltriert"). - Nase breit malzsüß mit Karamel, süßer Frucht, leicht fuseliger Note und Anflügen von minderwertigem Hopfen. - Im Antrunk sirupartige Süße und schwache pikante Säure. Bei Erwärmung kommen üble Aromen wie von zerkochtem Kohl und Erbrochenem dazu. Stark rezent, eher dünn im Mund. Wenig Körper. Schwach dumpf-bitterer Abgang; unangenehm säuerlich-herber Nachtrunk. Hopfenaromen fehlen völlig. - Dieses „Festbier“ ist leider ganz und gar nicht geeignet, ein Fest zu verschönern: das stümperhafte Aromengemisch ist hart an der Grenze zum Widerwärtigen. Dark brown and clear the glass. Caramel and malt in the nose. The beer starts quite sweet and not very deep in aroma. The mainpart is malty-sweet with nearly no bitterness. No deepness at all. The aftertaste is sweet-malty, slightly bitter.

500ml Flasche. Ins Glas ergießt sich ein dunkel goldenes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch malzig süß, Getreide. Geschmack malzig fruchtig, würzig, leichte Bitterkeit.

Cloudy golden with a good head. Spicy banana aroma. Noticeable clove flavours with refreshing fruit. Refreshing and well- made.

Bottle looks simple but really good. Beer in the glass deep golden, nice head. Starts mild, malty, modest dry. Mild hoppy. Some fine spicy notes, not too intense. Finish still mild, well balanced. Quite drinkable. Good one!

Bottle looks simple but really good. Beer in the glass zippy, huge head. Starts malty, a bit moldy, modest sourish. More and more spicy-malty, some grasy notes. Finish more balanced, still fine spicy. Quite drinkable. Not bad!
