Sampled somewhat warm. Aroma is sour but a nice mixture of wheat, lemon, cream, and banana. Amber color, shimmering and clearer than most hefes, not much of a head. Bubble gum and lemon flavor, not strong, not too sweet. Finish is grainy with an unavoidable plastic taste. Not the best hefe I’ve ever had but well worth the $1 from the Trader Joe’s bargain barrel.

The principal aroma is chocolate, but dark toasted malt and coffee seem to be present. The color is a not quite opaque extremely dark brown, and the substantial tan head stays the course. The body is a bit thin. The carbonation is mild and creamy. The flavor is burnt toast, a creamy sweetness follows, and there is a slight sour note in the background. The chocolate arrives at the finish. Not a great deal of bitter. I think it’s very good.

Yeast, honey, and copper aroma. Redddish amber color, thin light tan head. Copper taste, nice cherry when warm. Alcohol content is not strong but very evident. Hay finish, if it wasn’t overpowered by the alcohol. Not good at all, but I won’t pour it out.

Aroma of banana, and, yes some spice and arguably bubble gum. Hazy orange tinged color with a persisting white head. Clove noticeable as the glass approaches the lips. Medium bodied. A bit fizzy. The flavor is banana, accompanied by a firm clove hit. The finish is primarily clove. Good job.

Very light aroma of caramel or bread or both. Decent amber color with an off-white head that pretty much just filmed. Medium bodied. Not too fizzy. Sort of biscuit malt, and not all that much hop. Not much point in it, unless you like sweet without bitter.

Light grassy hop aroma. No corn detected. Brassy gold color with a persistent white head. Almost medium bodied, a bit over fizzy. The flavor is light bready malt with some balancing grassy hop. Not Urquel, but for the price it’s not so bad.

Aromas of chocolate and (hazel?) nuts? And toasted malts? Rather opaque brown with a beige head that flattened with a wee bit of lacing. Medium bodied, with a carbonation strong enough to bite. Pretty dry, has that roasted/toasted malt flavor that suggests Guinness. There’s some sour in it somewhere. The bitter is really mild, and the finish is ? It really doesn’t fit any category particularly well. It’s about as far from brown ale as could be. A bit thin for a stout. A bit robust for a porter. Pretty tasty though.

Sort of a light spicy, citrus aroma. Golden color like a lager, with a frothy white head that almost laces. The spice becomes definitely noticeable as the glass approaches the lips. Thin. Fizzy. Nice floral notes, something of breadiness, and a bitter that is mild but florally attractive. Not really all that citrusy, but the spice notes appear in the finish. It is rather light, especially for an amber, but it is rather tasty.

Bottle as Trader Jose Premium Lager. NIce grassy hop aroma. Pale golden color; a very little white head that filmed. Medium mouthfeel; a bit fizzy. Light malt sweetness, and it seems to be from barley. Balanced by nice grassy bitterness. It is really good for a somewhat pale lager. It’s got a start on pilsenerhood. Long trip though.

Aromas of chocolate, coffee, darkly toasted malt. Opaque brown/black color with a tan head that endures. Thinnish, lightly carbonated. Starts with coffee, toasted malt (almost like the really old Guinness), and a light touch of chocolate. Dry it is. Very nice bitter to go with the carbonized malt in the finish. Really quite good.
