Bottle. Ahh, the ever obnoxious Unibroue pour... seven inches of foamy fluff with just the slightest hint of a brownish liquid at the bottom of the glass. After a while things start to die down and a deep, dark brown body establishes itself under the massive head. Aromas are of medium/dark malt, bread, wet cardboard. Flavor is sweeter than I expected and mouthfeel is much more syrupy than all that carbonation seemed to indicate earlier. Really not that intriguing.

Cloudy dark brown body with a small creamy tan head. Sweet malty aroma with some light nuttiness. Sweet nutty flavor with some light maltiness in the end.

Bottle courtesy of Shp555: Poured a dark brown color ale with a huge off-white foamy head with perfect retention and great lacing. Aroma of spice with huge Belgian malt and typical Unibroue yeast. Taste is dominating by strong spice, Unibroue yeast and big Belgian malt. Body is above average with some great carbonation and no alcohol was discernable. I thought this beer was really complex and well done and probably something I would buy more often if I had access to it.

Light as all hell with almost no head at all. Aroma of old malt, some light cardboard and about nothing else. Light-bodied; Faint taste of paper and rice mixed in with super mild malt flavours. Aftertaste has some budweiser-esque flavours and finishes decently. Overall, I’d rather not have this one at all and just buy some decent beer for a few cents more a bottle to get something worth drinking. Sample it if you want to add another rating and to just tell everyone at Trader’s that YES, you had this as well as all their other currently in stock beers. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle on 03-March-2007.

Pale yellow colour with a bunch of small bubbles rising from the bottom. Aroma of nice fresh malt with some yeast coming in the nose as well. Medium-bodied; Strong malty flavours with a light hoppy taste and an effervescence that lasts in the mouth. Aftertaste is strong, but not bad at all. Overall, a decent beer that really can’t be faulted too much for $0.79 a bottle. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Trader Joe’s (no kidding, huh) in Skyline (Bailey’s Crossroads), Virginia on 03-March-2007.

This is a good beer. Dark brown and some foam on top. Caramel and malt aroma. Flavor has some malt as well, also an herbal quality that works for this beer. Consider it costs less than $1/ bottle; it is good, and even at a higher cost, not bad at all.

Very Unibroue-y. Standard house aroma. Medium sweet and malty dubbel, some aging fruit and light spices, a little black pepper?

Bottle from Trader Joes; grainy nose with caramel, yaest, and crabapple notes; dark copper witha medium, but quick disipating beige head; flavor of caramel malts with apple notes and a tiny bit of hop bitterness in the background

Pour is a orange with a white head. Aroma is sweet malts and i can actually smell the alcohol. Flavor is some citrus and malts but here comes the alcohol. Should a amber have 7.2%?. Finish is very boozy. Nothing you want to have after a long day at work.

Pour is a almost black with a small tan head. Aroma is very small, some roasty malts but not much else. Flavor is again pretty weak. Some malts but again not much else. Cheap but nothing great.
