Kolor jasno żółty, niemal klarowny. Piana biała, zbudowana z drobnych i średniej wielkości pęcherzyków, wysoka i trwała. Delikatnie zaznacza swoją obecność na szklance.
Aromat średnio intensywny, słodowy, chmielowy (owocowy).
Walory smakowe prawie idealnie zbalansowane, prawie ponieważ nad chmielową goryczką i słodową słodyczą wybija się delikatna nuta kwaskowa.
Wysycenie średnie, musujące. Tekstura prawie gładka. Ciało średnie w dół. Posmak średnio długi, kwaskowy, owocowy.

Gose flavoured with coffee - but not just coffee, no: this one carries a combination of green coffee and cascara (the dried husks of the coffee beans)... A bold choice for sure, but then it comes as a collaboration between two of Wallonia's new generation, globally oriented craft breweries, even named after both ('Borinage' plus 'Misery'). Thanks to tderoeck for sharing. Thin and open, off-white ring of bubbles dissolving completely over a misty golden robe with vague apricot tinge. Aroma of wakame, salted anchovies even, Sauerkraut, wheat flour, pumice, sourdough, gherkin, cucumber, green onion and indeed green coffee beans, but not actual coffee, if you see what I mean. Softly tart onset, salted tomato and cucumber notes, some lime sourness, medium carbonated; slick, soapy wheatiness, sourdough effect with salty edges as expected from a Gose (green seaweed-like in this case) but remaining fairly low in the green coffee effect I was promised, even though an odd, green herbal effect rules the finish - not too coffee-forward in fact, just very herbal, almost more green tea-like... Salty green seaweed, soapy wheat (also supporting the overall tartness) and a drying 'yoghurtiness' nevertheless dominate, so that in the end, the finish feels very classically Gose-like. Maybe a bit more of that green coffee - and especially that cascara, which is all but unnoticeable - would have really distinguished this one, but I am admittedly uncertain if such a distinction would be for the better...

Draught Head gone after scant seconds; utterly muddy pale yellow beer. Spicy nose, oriental/curry spices. Faint citruspeel, lactose and lactic acid. Rather a faint, if present bitterness, than acidity. Hints at sweetness that cannot break through, grainy. Citruspeel, pineapple and faint asafoetida. Citrusoils. Oily feel, medium bodied at least, not very carbonated. Original, but it seems to hesitate a bit where it wants to go, rather than achieve real balance.

33cl can de Carrefour LaChasse, BB 01/06/2026.
