Description
“It started back in 2013, with a glass of beer. Razvan, my brother, invited me to Beer O’Clock in the Old Town area, the only craft beer pub in Bucharest at that moment. He handed me a glass of Punk IPA by Brewdog and told me it will change what I thought I knew about beer. After drinking it, I felt like I was lied my entire life, imprisoned in a box. It is unbelievable how much more a simple glass of beer can offer you, more than what I drank before.
…we realized no one was doing it in Romania and we thought: What if we make a brewery?” – Alin Matache, owner Ground Zero.
With an initial investment of about 100.000 euro won at poker and after many attempts to find the best recipes and the “fight” to obtain all authorizations, Alin and Razvan opened the craft beer studio Ground Zero Beer on 1st of April 2015 in Baneasa, Bucharest.

33cl bottle share @ Niamey's 3rd craft beer tasting, big cheers to Madalin for logging around 30 Romanians bottles to Africa.

Bought and drank a bottle last summer from The Real Beer, Bucharest, shared with lovely Anja. Gushing! Hazy dark golden to amber, medium off-white head. Nice citrus aromas, orange, light tropical, light bubblegum, light malts. Malty, low bitterness. Light to medium body, moderate carbonation, abrupt finish. No bitterness.

Last summer at City Blues, Bucharest, shared with lovely Anja. Hazy golden, small off-white head. Moderately hoppy, grassy, leaves, herbs, light resin, light zest. Light bitter, moderate carbonation, moderately lasting dry finish. Drinkable. Very nice, I would prefer just a bit more hoppy stuff.

Draft at Beaty Food. Almost black, red highlights, creamy tan head. Smells mildly roasty, with light pleasant winey/cidery note. Similar taste, very dry, notes of dried berries, background black bitter chocolate, nice winey tannins in the finish. The nitro down mostly affects the head, not the mouthfeel. Nice.

Bottle at City Blues in Bucharest, pours a lightly hazy dark orange with some frothy, white head. Pithy citrus nose, oranges, red grapefruit, there's some caramel and fall fruits there too. Flavor has more pithy citrus, some pine now, soggy bread, some dark berry now too. Full bodied, bitter finish. Punchy and nicely done.
