On tap at In de Wildeman. Very deep dark brown colour, beige head. Aroma is liquorice, anise, laurel, sweet malts. Flavour is same, mainly anise and liquorice, dry and creamy, Dutch drop bitter finish. Medium bodied. One dimensional, but well made.

33 cl bottle (9.5%!). Golden hazy color. Huge, almost white head, very creamy. Aroma’s malty & caramel sweet, a little bit citrus and a little bit smoke (?). Flavor is rather sweet. Body is fuller than expected given the huge carbonation. Finishes with some caramel and mild bitterness. On the sweet side but ok.

Draught @ Pint Winterbierfestival Gouda, 2011. Dark brown, almost black color, brown head. Smell malts and lightly spices. Taste caramel, malts, light fruit and light bitter. Expected it to be thick but it’s quite smooth. Nice beer.

(Draught at In de Wildeman, Amsterdam, 15 July 2011) Dark brown colour with frothy, beige head. Spicy, malty nose with liquorice root, cough-medicine (or Kan Jang) and caramel. Malty, spicy taste with notes of liquorice, cough-medicine, dried fruit, raisins and a bitter sweet finish. Slightly more than medium body, quite sweet. Interesting beer.

A nice hoppy and bitter beer. It’s slightly oily but that doens’t really bother me. Racked up a nice score.

This beer smelled, like benzai says, a little bit like sambuca and liquorish. Think it’s called anice. Taste isn’t affected that much by it though.

Regular pilsener colour. Drinks pretty easily. Has a bit more complex taste then most other pilseners. Very nice!

Pours a hazy dark orange. Smell is ok, little sweet. Hints of melon. Way too much carbonation! Taste is fair but completely overwhelmed by the carbonation.

Colour is nice. I smell watermelon. Cant taste it very well, because the CO2 is so overwhelming. Way too much.
