Description
The brewery was founded in May 2007 under the name Quercus Devon Ales in Churchstow, Devon. In 2011 new owners took over the brewery till 2016.

In September 2016 the business was purchased by a consortium led by city insurance specialist John Tiner and his wife Geraldine. They changed its name to the current one. In 2017 the brewery moved to the current location.

Salcombe Brewery Co. has stunning views towards the Salcombe Ria. The innovative new brewery is a unique concept situated above a decommissioned water reservoir, utilising the natural ambient temperature of the underground facility, making the brewery as energy efficient as possible. Together with the surrounding nature and views towards Salcombe, it’s a great place for local and visiting customers to enjoy.

Cask at CPK, Pimlico on 13th June 2025. Clear golden amber with shallow foam and scant lacing. Sweet malt aroma with zesty peel. Malty in-mouth with pithy fruits and grasses - all of these flavours then play a role in a pleasant finish. Medium bodied with a velvet smooth mouthfeel.

Cask at the London & North Western, Birmingham. Slightly dark gold with a small white top. Quite a chewy malty, biscuity tipple with a light grapefruit rind bitterness but somewhat boring. Lacks a session quality which is a red flag for this type of beer.

Can, 9 months in date. Clear dark gold, thin white head, little retention. Aroma of malts, grapefruit, a touch of citrus. Taste has a grapefruit bitterness, somewhat sour, a touch floral. Medium bodied, slightly drying, average carbonation. Well just average generally to be honest.
