Pint of cask at the Old Counting House on Cornhill. That was a very good pint of beer. An inviting dark, chestnut brown in the glass and a minimal head. The first sip was lots of biscuit and roasted malts with a touch of sweetness that you would expect of the style. The sweetness disappeared and then it was all malt and some welcome bittering hops. I had to stop myself from downing it too quickly.

Bottle at home picked up from Watford M&S. A clear golden yellow coloured pour with a fading white loose white. Aroma is sweet, buttered white bread, tangy green apple, hedgerow hop. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, bready grains, apple, light grains, english hop. Palate is semi sweet, rounded, moderate carbonation. Light alcohol presence in the finish. Pretty bland over all.

Bottle at home picked up from Watford M&S. A clear golden orange coloured pour with a loose dirty white head. Aroma is nutty brown bread malts, light midget gems, , light toffee. Flavour is composed of nutty bready, tangy malts, , grassy hop. Mild infection. Apple. Palate is high spritzy carbonation, abrasive. Grainy. Grassy hop. Meh.
