(Cask by gravity at White Horse, Parson's Green, London, 25 Nov 2017) Amber colour with brief, beige head. Malty, slightly fruity nose with dried fruit, leather, wild berries and caramel. Malty, fruity taste with notes of dried fruit, black-currant, blackberries, orange marmalade and a balanced citric bitterness. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Tasty and well balanced winter ale. Nice one.

(Cask at White Horse, Parson's Green, London, 25 Nov 2017) Copper colour with foamy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with dried fruit, raisins, orange peel and vinous aromas of strong wine. Malty, vinous taste with notes of dried fruit, orange peel, apricot marmalade, caramel, hints of oak wood and a balanced spicy bitterness. Full body, with a certain sweetness. Vinous and warming, but tasty and fairly well balanced for its strength. Nice one.

Cask at Spread Eagle. It pours clearing red - amber with a medium off-white head. The aroma is earthy, working spice, bit of toffee, caramel and red fruit. The taste is dry, rather bitter, plenty of spice, peppery, red berry, cranberry, wood and tannin with a drying finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Fair enough. A bit too spicy to be overly drinkable, but it's not bad.

Tried at the Parcel Yard Kings cross. Deep copper to amber colour with a off white head. Malty nutty and light citrus fruit aroma. Taste grainy, caramel and light sweet. Medium body.

Cask at the Parcel Yard, 16/01/18. Clear copper with a well presented beige head. Nose is biscuit, light spice, dried fruits, brown bread, straw. Taste comprises fruit loaf, toffee, dried red berries, spice, malts. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying close. Decent flavoursome bitter.

Bottle. M&S. Just about clear, pale gold. Decent white foam. Nose has sweet and bready malts. Some cracknel toffee. Hops are old school and leafy. Taste is sweet and semi dry. Light body. Soft carbonation. Sweet and bready finish. Ok.

Bottle. M&S. Hazed, dark orange. Frothy, uneven, lasting, dirty white head. Nose has pithy citrus, particularly lemon and orange. Spicy, old world hop. Slightly buttery, cereal malts. Taste has some buttery sweetness, and a grassy, leafy bitterness. More of the buttery thing on the palate. Full on fizz. Grassy and leafy bitterness to finish. Well, it smelled ok, but dipped a bit after that.
