Cask (Oddfellows, North Shields) - Dark brown with red tinges. Blackcurrant, roasted malt and cocoa in the aroma. Roasted malt and cocoa feature in the enjoyable taste.

Cask at the Rose & Crown, Sandhurst. A pale straw colour with a frothy white head; fresh citrusy aroma; strong citrusy taste with grassy bitterness; and a very long, refreshing finish. An excellent summer ale.

Cask gravity at Bexley BF 2014. Black dark brown beer. Some choc some chilli some lasting heat. Ok.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Amber with a loose cream head; malty aroma with some honey in the background; immediate taste of grassy hops with some light malts and honey sweetness; than a lingering honey biscuit finish with nettles adding some freshness. A well balnced summer beer.

Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading. Reddish-brown with a moderate yellowy-beige head. Roasted malt dominates with some chocolate and plum sourness putting in the occasional appearance. The roast is a little on the burnt side for my liking, and the mouthfeel is a bit sticky by the end. Nevertheless, it’s an OK mild.
