Cask at the White Horse Winter Ales Fest, 22/11/13. Opaque mahogony brown witha decent light beige head that retains well. Nose is dark fruits, bready malt, toffee, light spice, dark malts. Taste comprises brown bread dough, earthy cocoa, cinammon, spice, dark fruit tang, toffee. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry finale with toffee notes. Decent easy drinking old.

Cask (handpump) @ EBF15 2013, 15th Egham Beer Festival, Egham United Services Club (EUSC), 111 Spring Rise, Egham, Surrey, England TW20 9PE.Clear medium yellow color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, grain - cobs dusty, flowers, light herbs. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, fruity sweet, fruity, malty, flowers - nectar. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. Cask gravity at the Watford beer fest 2013. Aroma is roast black malt, ginger is pungent earthy root ginger. Flavour is spicy earthy ginger and mellow roasted notes. Sweet finish. Some artificial notes.

Cask at the Sussex Arms, Twickenham Green, 12/10/13. Very dark mahogony brown with a thin light tan covering. Nose is light roast, dark toffee, vanilla, light smoke, nutty waft. Taste comprises earthy tones, brown bread, mellow roast, dark toffee, subtle smokey tones, brown sugars. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, mellow roast finish. Nice easy drinking porter with subtle smokey undertones.

Cask at the Bird in Hand, Knowl Hill. Amber with a ring of translucent head; rather agricultural aroma, with some malt and some damp straw; the taste is of soft malts and orchard fruit; the finish is dry, muddy, and has some pleasant sweet floral bitterness to it. Overall a refreshing farmhouse style bitter, but lacking the anticipated hops.

Cask at GBBF ’13, 13/08/13, clawback rate ! Light black with a thin tan head that clears edgeward. Nose is roast malt, light spice, chocolate, dark toffee notes, hint of burnt rubber. Taste comprises light chilli kick, dark chocolate, light roast. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry roast in the finale. Decent stout.
