Description
Yard of Ale has been brewing on-site since 2008. In that time we’ve provided beer to an increasing number of Pubs, Clubs, Beer Festivals and Specialist Suppliers.
Initially set up as a cask ale supplier, Yard of Ale can now supply its Award-Winning ales in various formats - from traditional 9g cask to one-way carbonated kegs to Mini-Kegs, Bag-in-Box and Bottles.

ABV: 4.8%. Clear dark brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, dark malt, sweet malt, dark fruit, wood, light roasted. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average to long duration, wood, sweet malt, dark malt, fruity malt, dark fruit. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20190124]

Cask at Tanners Hall JDW Darlington. Dark brown amber colour, biege foamy head and spiced aroma. Taste is cinnamon spice, spruce, almost minty with malt, chocolate and dried fruits. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry earthy spiced finish. Quite OK

Cask at Caps Off, Bishop Auckland. Amber brown colour, creamy off-white foam head and malty earthy sulphury aroma. Taste is malt, biscuit with earthy nutty bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry biscuity finish. Quite OK

Cask at Half Moon, Darlington. Golden colour, white foam head leaving lacing and citrusy hop aroma. Taste is malt, earthy, berry hop, some biscuit with citrusy tangy bitterness. Light bodied, soft carbonation, dry tangy bitter finish. Quite OK

ABV: 4.3%. Clear medium orange yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, sweet malt, fruity malt, light yeasty, yeast, light apple. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration, fruity malt, pale malt, sweet malt, fruity - apple. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. Cask at Half Moon, Darlington. Reddish amber colour, white foam head and yeasty aroma. Taste is slighly roasty, malt, bready, chocolate with dark fruity notes and some bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying roast bitter finish. Quite drinkable.

On cask at Old Mill, Metal Bridge Ferryhill - Standard golden ale, bit fusty. Nowhere near normal YOA standards.
