Description
Yard of Ale has been brewing on-site since 2008. In that time we’ve provided beer to an increasing number of Pubs, Clubs, Beer Festivals and Specialist Suppliers.
Initially set up as a cask ale supplier, Yard of Ale can now supply its Award-Winning ales in various formats - from traditional 9g cask to one-way carbonated kegs to Mini-Kegs, Bag-in-Box and Bottles.

4/6/2018. Cask at the Half Moon, Darlington. Pours amber with a small bubbly off-white head. Aroma has a huge dose of citrus, grass, light biscuit, hint of pear and hops. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness. Light body, slight oily and watery texture, average to soft carbonation.

500ml bottle from Surtees Arms, Ferryhill. Dark golden amber colour, creamy white foam head leaving alittle lacing and fruity aroma. Taste is pale malt, sweetish, bready with sourish fruity, earthy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry tangy finish. Quite OK.

Cask at Half Moon, Darlington. Amber colour, thin white foam head leaving lacing and aroma of malt, citrus. Taste is malty, some bread and biscuit, with citrusy hop bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry tangy bitter finish. Quite drinkable.

31/5/2018. Cask at The Rockcliffe Arms, Whitley Bay. Pours hazy dark golden with a creamy off-white head. Aroma of malt, hop, fruit, bread and light floral/herbal notes. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Fairly bitter finish. Traditional bitter, not bad.

500ml bottle from Caps Off, Bishop Auckland. Golden colour, foamy white head leaving lots of lacing and aroma of biscuity malt, grain, alittle hop. Taste is grainy, malt, bready, and slightly citric with earthy hop bitterness. Light to medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry metallic bitter finish. OK.

500ml bottle from Caps Off, Bishop Auckland. Black-brown colour, creamy tan foam head leaving lacing and meaty smoked malt aroma. Taste is smokey roast, dark malt, meaty, with bready notes, chocolate and earthy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, roasty bitter finish. Quite drinkable.

Cask at Half Moon, Darlington. Coppery amber colour, white foam head leaving lacing and roasted, nutty aroma. Taste is malty, roasty & chocolate hints, blackcurrent note with some nutty bitterness. Light bodied, soft carbonation, dry tangy bitter finish. OK.

Cask at 2017 Darlington CAMRA beer festival at the forum. Golden colour, white foam head leaving lacing and aroma of grains, yeast. Taste is grainy, malt, hay with astringent bitter notes. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry tangy bitter finish. OK.

Cask at Quakerhouse, Darlington. Pours a deep brown colour with a thin beige foam head and malty aroma. Taste is malty, dark chocolate, coffee, bready with some dry bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying bitter finish. Quite OK.
