Cask at Surtees Arms, Ferryhill Durham. Clear dark brown colour, off-white foam head leaving lacing and malty aroma. Taste is bready malt, some biscuit, with nutty, fruity hop notes and bitterness. Smoothish mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry nutty bitter finish. Quite drinkable.

Cask at Half Moon, Darlington. Golden colour, white foam head leaving alittle lacing and yeasty, metallic aroma. Taste is biscuit, grain, with flowery citrusy hoppy notes and some yeasty, grassy bitterness. Light bodied, medium carbonation, biscuity tangy bitter finish. OK.

On cask @ the Teesdale Hotel in Middleton in Teesdale. Appearance - golden with a decent head. Nose - lemons and malt. Slightly grainy. Taste - more lemon barley water. Slight astringent malt finish but within tolerances. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly balanced finish. Overall - decent example of the style.

330ml bottle from the Crafty Pint (Half Moon) Darlington. Golden amber colour with a foamy white head and grainy yeasty aroma. Taste is malt, grain, tart, citrus and spice, with some lingering bitterness. Medium bodied, soft to medium carbonation, dry woody bitter finish. Quite drinkable.

Cask at Half Moon, Darlington. Brown amber colour, thin off-white foam head and malty, fruity aroma. Taste is malt, berry fruits, light roast, some sweetness, tartness and bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry finish. Quite drinkable.

On cask at Surtees Arms, Ferryhill - Clear amber body, long lasting thick white head. Nose is a little citrus, malty and cereals. Taste is robust and tasty, lots of caramel and citrus. Good oily mouthfeel. A good one!

Cask at Darlington Beer Festival June 2014. Clear coppery-brown amber colour, thin off-white head and aroma of caramel, malt, sourish. Taste is roast malt, smokey, caramel, nutty, tangy hop and light bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel, thin bodied, soft carbonation, dry tangy nutty finish. Quite drinkable.

Cask (Quakerhouse, Darlington) - Amber with a foamy head. Sultanas, earthy hops and apricot are in the aroma. Nicely balanced taste with notes of sultanas, apricot and toffee.

330ml Bottle - Golden with a white head. Dried fruit, biscuity malt and nuts in the aroma. Malty taste with notes of earthy hops, citrus and biscuity malt.
