Keg draught at the Blue Boar, Leicester. Dark gold, diety murky hazy with a big tight off-white head. Dank aroma, lots of papaya, lychee, grassy notes. Sweet taste, almost too sweet but not quite. Little bit of bitterness creeping k at the end. Thick as hell with limited carbonation. Very decent.

Cask at CBC, Covent Garden on 26th January 2025. Hazy yellowy amber with lasting white foam and spot lacing. Spiced hop aroma with savoury notes. Pithy fruitiness in-mouth, lactic touches and a somewhat anticlimactic finish. Full bodied with a soft mouthfeel.

Cask at CBC, Covent Garden on 19th January 2025. Hazy amber with shallow off-white foam and full lacing. Nutty malts and zesty citrus peel aroma. Rich citrus peel in-mouth and a finish of citrus zest and grassiness. Medium to full bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. Enjoyable.

440ml can. Jet black colour with small to average, frothy, rapidly diminishing, tan head. Intense and condensed, dark malty aroma, with roasty and chocolately aspects, notes of dark chocolate, couverture, cocoa, a touch of maple syrup, wafers, tarmac, whiffs of marmite, sweet-ish, slightly fruity-alcoholic and woody overtones with hints of cherry, liqueur, oak. Taste is sweet-ish and roasty, chocolately, dark malty, notes of dark chocolate, molasses, a touch of toffee, maple syrup, BA support with hints of red wine, cherry, oak; warming, alcoholic finish. Viscous texture, smooth and soft, minimally cloying palate, fine, dense, soft to flat carbonation. Very harmonious, well adjusted BA flavours, fruitiness fools into believing in a non-existent easiness - very nice sipper.

Cask at the Wellington, Birmingham. Pours black with small beige head. Dark malts, chocolate, caramel, some citrus and pine hopping, a little ashy in the finish. Slick body, subtle carbonation. Its not a full on hoppy BIPA, more like a hoppier than average stout. I like it though.

Cask at CBC, Covent Garden on 28th December 2024. Almost impenetrably black with almost no foam or lace. Liquorice aroma. Vanilla, aniseed and cherry fruits in-mouth. Roasty malts, coffee and bitter chocolate dominate the finish. Lighter body than expected, but a smooth mouthfeel.
